  1. Budget (including currency): No more than $650 CAD - looking to save money if I can, already over budget! Country: Ontario, Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Older AAA games, some light hobby video editing learning, various indie, etc... Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Here is my current list (1080p 60+ build, already have perifs and monitor, hoping to build very soon, or in two weeks.): PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor ($244.83 @ Amazon Canada) Motherboard: MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($174.99 @ Amazon Canada) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory ($89.99 @ Amazon Canada) Storage: ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 512 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive ($94.99 @ Canada Computers) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (Purchased For $0.00) Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon RX 570 4 GB GAMING Video Card (Purchased For $0.00) Case: NZXT H510 ATX Mid Tower Case (Purchased For $0.00) Power Supply: SeaSonic S12III 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($74.50 @ Vuugo) Total: $679.30 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-08-01 09:09 EDT-0400 The three "$0" I already own/inherited or already bought. Reason for the mobo choice is to get the USB C header I need (I think?) Main worries right now are the PSU - any better recommendations/am I making a bomb by mistake? I'm also highly considering getting the SSD later, and sticking with the HDD I already have - unless anybody has a better, cheaper SSD recommendation? EDIT: OH, Mobo help, right. Is this an okay board? Again, need the USB-C header for the case, and seemed to have everything else I need (I do need Wifi...) - originally planned to do a 450, but built in wifi + header swayed me. Thanks so much for the help everyone!

  3. Thank you for all the help!! I really appreciate it. And I wish I could run a wired connection lol. I'd need to run the cable through the perimeter of my kitchen, and can't run anything through the walls with my old apartment. Thanks again. Can't wait to build it for the first time!
  4. Hi everybody! I'm completely new, and have never built a computer before, but very interested in upgrading from an old Macbook Air. I plan to pull the trigger maybe in the next couple months, but really have no clue where to start. Budget (including currency): ~ $800CAD Can go a bit over if it's super necessary, or will make an immense difference. Country: Canada, Ontario Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly older games I missed out on, maybe newer games at medium at least. Monitor is 1080p, 75hz. Some light audio and potential video editing down the line, just as a hobby. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Very important to have WiFi and Bluetooth, as there's no way for me to run a cable without huge headaches. I'd love something that I can upgrade a bit as I go as well - though I have no idea how feasible that is. Current Monitor: Asus VA24EHEY (has Freesync, 75hz refresh rate). Have a keyboard and mouse that I'm happy with. Thank you so much for the help everybody!!
