Hi everyone,
Please help me in this situation.
I currently have a GTX 970 gpu with 2 ( or 3 ) minidisplays ports, 1 mini hdmi, 1 DVI and 1 VGA ports.
I am planning to upgrade to an Ampere or Big Navi solution when they are released this year, but until then i need to upgrade my monitors because i have bad vision.
Going from two 1080p 24inch to two 27inch 1440p 144hz ( BenQ EX2780Q ).
Now the situation is this:
- Should i buy mini-dp to dp cables or should i buy a DP cable and a mini-dp to DP adapter?
Reasoning is that the DP cable will still be used when i upgrade the GPU, but i don't know which one is more efficient ( adapter vs cable )
- I understand that several GTX 970 cards have issues with the mini-dp and dp ports, but since i can not test mine yet, should i also get a dvi or hdmi adapter?
- I've found several adaptors and cables that say 8k 60hz or 4k 60hz, but will these provide me 144hz over 1440p? Not sure how they translate to lower resolutions
- Should i get a cable that is less than 2m or it doesn't matter? ( was thinking between 2-3 meters )
- Does the version of the DP cable/adapte matter? I understand it's backward compatible, but i would like a confirmation
This is one of the DP cables i was thinking of:
