  1. Hey LTT The Macbook pro of my friend recently crashed and he is not going to get it fixed since the warranty doesn't cover it. So he decided to buy a new laptop with Windows installed on it. He asked me if I could help him to retrieve the old data (mostly music, pictures,..) from his old HDD. My question, will it be enough to just take out the harddrive, plug it in to a SATA - USB connector and transfer the data? Or will the whole Mac - PC compatibillity thing be an issue? I have done the process with an old HDD from an old laptop (with the OS (Windows) still installed) and it just let me take the necessary files of it without much hassle. I'm asking this to make sure I don't corrupt the data in anyway, since it is not my HDD. Thank you in advance!

  3. Hi there, I am in my second year of industrial sciences and I have had 2 semesters of programming. The things I learned in the first semester were HTML, CSS, Basic programming in Java (with a program called Greenfoot at first and then we switched to NetBeans). This year we continued to program in Java with NetBeans, but also learned how to create GUIs and got the basics of SQL (all of it in NetBeans). All these things I have learned are from a theoretical course given by my university, so I can't really help you with the textbooks. However for Greenfoot, there was a textbook available (I'll put a link at the end of my post). This book teaches you the basics of programming (Classes, Methods, Casting,... All the things you will be needing later on for more complex programs). Now I must warn you that Greenfoot does look quite 'childish'. But it is easier to get going with programming . If you are finished with Greenfoot you can start with the real thing. Most of the knowledge you have gathered from Greenfoot can be used in other programming applications. I suggest you look up how to program in HTML and CSS on the internet (trust me, it isn't all that hard). Link to Greenfoot website: http://www.greenfoot.org/door
  4. Hello everyone, Does someone who owns an XFX R9 280X also have the problem that when the card is under a heavy load it starts screeching and making a fast 'clicking' sound (that's the best way I can describe it). The coil whine it self doesn't last very long, but the clicking noise however is permanent. When I play warthunder it get really loud, to the point where it actually isn't quite comfortable anymore. Should I contact XFX about this? Or is this 'standard' with this card. Is anyone in a similar situation?
  5. Hey LTT, Lately I've been having a problem. At random moments my monitor starts to flash. It's switches very fast between black and white. I have no idea what it is and it occured twice in 3 months time. The issue is solved by restarting the computer, but that's not ideal since the actual problem isn't fixed. When I turned the monitor on and off for the first time it gave me back my view, but most of the items shown on my monitor were shifted (Say every five rows, a row of pixels moved 5 pixels to the left, creating a distorted image). The second time it occured I turned the monitor on and off, but this time the flashing of the screen stayed. The computer itself worked throughout the flashing (had a song playing in the background and it didn't stop). I have an XFX R9 280X Double Dissipation, A Corsair C750M PSU and a BenQ RL2455HM 24" Monitor. Anybody knows the cure to this?

  8. Are we hating on the RM series? First thing I heard from it.
  9. Welp, I read over that. It literally says "no pop-ups". :v
  10. Aha! Didn't know about that. I will have a look at it.
  11. Good evening LTT For some time now I have been working with avast! as my anti-virus. I have used AVG for quite a while in the past, but a lot of people have recommended to switch to avast. However, the pop-ups that avast gives me every once in a while annoy me. I can't turn them off since I am using the free version. Is there anything on the market the works well but without the pop-ups? Thank you
