  1. I am trying clover for a vanilla Mojave install on: aorus ultra z390 9600hk 32gb gskill ram amd Vega frontier air wd black m.d nvme ssd 500gb i have tried every USB port and I am pretty sure my bios settings are correct.
  2. It's not really a problem, but does anyone know how this is allowed to happen. Does it mean like each 100% is 1 thread?
  3. I would set your fans to max. Typically, changes in state (hot -> cold -> hot or fast -> slow -> fast) wear out parts faster than just keeping them on full throttle or high heat. Its one of the reasons that lightbulb from the 1900s is still on today. There used to be "closet" lightbulbs made to be turned off and on then back off frequently. It also probably doesn't matter though since your fans will ramp up to max to cool your turboing cpu and it will have the same effect after 5 minutes. Case fans probably wont change your temps too much but if the noise doesn't bother you you can keep them at 100. TLDR: tis better to be at 100 and stay there then be at 80 and then need more.
  4. The exchange rate still isn't 1usd=.5CAD A 2tb ssd will up the price but perform great. If you need to conserve cash you can get a around 500gb boot drive ssd and a bigger hdd for bulk storage. Your chosen processer comes with a cooler. You aren't overclocking it so there is no reason to buy an aftermarket one. save the money. As long as the case doesn't thermally isolate the computer and is big enough it is fine. Get whatever you want or whatever is cheap
  5. Hmm, seems like a windows problem, not your pc. A0 isn't an error, it means windows (osx, linux etc) is controlling your computer Do you have a code for your windows license? If so, make another install disc and try that. you can get it here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO
  6. Agreed I never even knew i3 had a ram speed that low, good catch. A SSD will give you more performance than upgrading from a i3-7100
  7. That mobo is overpriced on that merchant. Find out what you need (wifi, BT, usb c headers, water pump headers etc) and get the cheapest one that has that stuff. The cpu is locked, so there isn't much to worry about in terms of performance. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/3rNv6h/asrock-b365-pro4-atx-lga1151-motherboard-b365-pro4 that board seems fine, but it is over 100$ less on newegg.
  8. yea 80 is nothing. Even Apple lets this happen and their systems do not burn down.
  9. far cry 4, far cry 5 and the manual to a Audi? Only 1tb !
  10. With games or media? I guess, If it was a hard budget machine a tiny ssd and fat hdd could make sense. I'll always have a soft spot for a good ol velociraptor My style was always more keep games on steams servers if i'm not playing them often. You may have local games though. Your whole life may not fit on 1 or 2.25tb, but since you are a content creator and buying a 2k computer, I decided to make an ass of Issac and me and assume you have some storage on local network.
  11. But if they went with a 8x4 or 4x4 kit then an upgrade would waste ram since there wouldn't be enough slots. I guess you are right about upgrading storage since you can just connect moar, but a 7200rpm HDD is nearly a joke in 2020 for a consumer machine. Its a 2k USD machine so pony up for a SATA SSD bulk storage. Its a homemade desktop so almost everything is easy to upgrade. Nothing will become obsolete (although some games have "ssd" in recommended specs now), but it will be replaced.
  12. Go to pcpartpicker and sort by price per gb then get one of the right speed. These are cheap https://pcpartpicker.com/product/8BLwrH/gskill-aegis-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr4-3200-memory-f4-3200c16d-32gis . You can get a 1x16 twice instead of a kit too. Also i would use A z390 Aorus wifi pro/Aorus Ultra/ Aorus Master (they are all pretty similar). Im not sure how S E R I O U S B U I S N E S S your content creation is, but the more cores of a ryZEN will be better for that. Games are starting to use more cores too. The Aorus Ultra has headers for front USB C on the z390 version so its safe to say the AMD version and fancier Master sku will too. Brob is right about the performance of air coolers, but AIO does look cleaner. I wouldn't change that.
  13. The 16gb and small ssd wasn't future proof.
