I'm helping a friend build a pc. We came up with this list but were confused a bit on why there weren't more midrange motherboards (~$150 for the i5-9600k). We are also having trouble deciding whether to go AMD R5 3600 or Intel i5-9600k. He wants to use the PC for gaming, and wants the best machine for around $1000. He probably won't upgrade it until maybe 4-5 years down the road. We were also looking at the Cooler Master 212 EVO cooler for the CPU, but it doesn't seem to fit in the case. Additionally, what is the best RAM to pair with either a r5 3600 or i5-9600k. We noticed that the RAM limitations for the i5 and the current motherboard are 2666mhz. Also, do ram timings and product number (sk hynex vs samsung b-die) matter for intel as much as AMD?
Also, should we go with a sole m.2 nvme ssd 1tb, 120/256 gb m.2 + 2 tb hdd, sshd storage?, or just SSD?
Thanks, we appreciate any comprehensive feedback in advance.
