  1. Alright. I guess i'll just have them test it so at least i'll know it has the performance of the 1080. Thank you.
  2. I can't upload pictures but it appears to have the IO of the "Asus reference gtx 1080" (as per pc part picker) but the cooler of the Asus turbos, without the white stripes for some reason. Do you know if Asus just mixed and matched IO shields and coolers, or if the Asus reference and Asus turbo 1080s always came with different IO shields? I just don't want to be buying a fake 1080.
  3. Hi! I'm buying a used GTX 1080 asus blower-style card, and from the pictures, on the IO, it has a triangle pattern instead of straight lines like on the asus blower-style 1080s i find else where. Is it safe to assume this is a fake, or were there differences in manufacturing for some reason? The cooler also doesn't appear to have the white stripes like on new asus blower-style coolers, but it has the correct display outs.
  4. Thank you, I just wasn't sure if the performance would be enough for what I need but its probably just that I need more threads.
  5. It's not that Ryzen is a bad value but for what I want in a system 1155 is pretty good, but I see your point and i've been thinking of upgrading. I'll probably wait to see how ryzen 4000 series is, and maybe for the 3070, just because the system i have now isn't that bad. Also, I have 16gb of ram already installed which is definitely plenty for me.
  6. Hi! 2 years ago, I upgraded an old Optiplex 790 that had a i5 2400 with a new PSU (450 watts, bronze), 1060 3gb, and a network card and eventually upgraded to an 860 evo and more ram. Recently, I noticed that the system was slowing down whenever I would open a chrome tab while playing a game, like Rust or DS3, and generally just low FPS even though the GPU was at around 60% usage. I was looking through task manager and had a temperature-recording program running, but the CPU clock speed was the same as stock and temps were mid 70s. Task manager reported full CPU usage, even without the chrome tab. I've also ran I think Aida, with no thermal throttling. I also run very few background apps, being nvidia, Office 365 for school (rarely any documents being loaded), steam, and task manager. From what I can tell from task manager, the game uses about 80% of the CPU (at least that's what I remember, I'm away from my computer right now, it may be more). I'm not looking for huge performance gains but a consistent 1080p 60fps medium/high in more demanding games and much higher in CSGO and Siege. I've also noticed that my games run about 20fps better when I'm not on discord then when I am. Would upgrading to a i7 2600 solve these issues, considering it has hyper-threading and a slightly higher clock, or could there be another factor I haven't considered tuning?
