vinit6694skr reacted to illegalwater in Death Stranding (PC) supports DLSS 2.0, allowing 4K at 60+ FPS on any RTX GPU
Here's a video from Digital Foundry covering DLSS and FidelityFX
tldw: DLSS looks better and runs significantly faster than native res TAA, also it totally destroys FidelityFX in visual quality

While I agree that it's a slippery slope and a tricky topic to approach, do you support the idea of malicious governments and corporations directly taking advantage to millions of people, and is harvesting ungodly amounts of personal information and data for their own personal gain? Do you think the 12 year old kid understood the decision they made when they downloaded the app that their favorite celebrity preaches?
Nobody signs up for that, and everyone that says "people know the risks when they agreed to the TOS" are lying to themselves IMO

The statement says 'threat to sovereignty and security' not just ' sovereignty. India will never be China 2.0 we are a proud democracy and not an authoritarian dictatorship like China.
The current ruling party is never afraid of any criticism or negativity spread against it as most of it is spread through social media like YouTube, Facebook, Tweeter, WhatsApp, etc. which are not getting banned and sufficient negativity also spread through news channels and internet news portals which infact have grown since this new govt. came in power.
And India never attacked China or any other country and infact China has captured so much of Indian territory in the past but previous governments never took a strict retaliatory action in fear of straining relations with China but this government is not like those previous ones the current political leadership has given a strict message that we won't give a single inch of our territory to the Chinese or any other country and that's why the scuffle happened last month where both sides lost their soldiers.
And personally I'm not a big fan or supporter of this government either. I literally hate them for many things they do or did not do but on this Chinese issue they are doing all that they should do and can do.

ChromeOS hasn't died yet? Shocking. It should've died years ago.

vinit6694skr reacted to illegalwater in Death Stranding (PC) supports DLSS 2.0, allowing 4K at 60+ FPS on any RTX GPU
Death Stranding's PC port supports DLSS 2.0, every RTX card can comfortably run 4K at 60+ FPS with it enabled.
The performance gains are impressive, each GPU practically moves up a tier with DLSS enabled. I'm hoping we see most new games implement DLSS over the next few years, especially as real time ray tracing goes mainstream.

"Moving 3D graphics that are far more complex and even have 3rd axis" that you see while gaming are a series of rendered images (-> frames)
With DLSS 2.0 the shaders in RTX cards are free to render those images at a (aliased) lower resolution (i.e. 720p to target 1080p, therefore more frames produced in the same amount of time). Meanwhile the card's tensor cores are then used to upscale the image using an AI convolutional encoder in real time.
They don't make "details out of thin air", they have an exhaustively trained deep neural network that learns by comparing the results of it's processing to high quality 16K reference images.
I suggest to not underestimate AI and address it like it is something that "it is impossible and will never exist" because a lot of companies (including nVidia) have already understood AI potential and are shifting their focus and resources towards that.

vinit6694skr got a reaction from BTGbullseye in Best GPU for 2678v3?
For 1440p 120 fps you will need RTX 2070 super and above. But having said that you also need a CPU which can give you 120fps and yours might not be able to do so in new titles.

Also, looking at that Task Manager, 2133 RAM is either really slow, or you haven't enabled the XMP profile to OC it to whatever speed the sticks are rated to run at.

vinit6694skr got a reaction from steelo in upgrade a 7 Year Old PC - mainly CPU
Strange you can't find 2600 here in India you can not only get a 2600 but also a 1600. The AF never launched though. I had similar choice like you though a 3500 or 2600 both were similarly priced but I went to 2600 simply because of the extra 6 threads.

A 2600 is better than the Broadwell 6C/12T i7 6800k which they used to sell for 400 USD.

Go for R5 2600 or 1600 AF if you can find it.

vinit6694skr reacted to Eigenvektor in How can Doom Eternal be so easy to run?
The big advantage of Vulkan is that it is a lower level API. It has less CPU-overhead (compared to DirectX) and allows to parallelize draw calls (something graphics APIs couldn't do for a long time, which is why most work happens in a single thread). So Vulkan games can scale better on multi-core CPUs (if developers put the effort in).
The flip side of that is that it requires more work from game developers compared to something like DirectX. So it is mostly down to how well optimized the Id-Tech engine is (and how good their developers are at taking full advantage of the API), rather than the API as such.
RDR2 is also an open world game that has a lot of stuff going on, while Doom has mostly linear corridors with limited view range which is a lot easier to optimize for.

vinit6694skr reacted to HumdrumPenguin in How can Doom Eternal be so easy to run?
@vinit6694skr As I mentioned before, the fps on 4k goes way beyond your suggested 60fps. The average is 120fps when playing the first mission. I wanted to see this game with a texture pack optimized for cards with 11gb vram. Would look awesome and still play fairly well.
On a side note, with all this horse power I still play so bad that makes me cry.

nepali pricing is quite similar to indian pricing so maybe try that out. however it is highly inaccurate, as the prices they list are nowhere near the actual prices

Don't we have a thread discussing this in the Tech News section?
My opinion on this is that it can only be good, to reduce the memory footprint a little. Though personally I don't use Chrome and my browser of choice, vivaldi, use slightly less RAM than Chrome (about 100mb less with the same 5 tabs open)
