  1. @HairlessMonkeyBoy @ThatOneRussian @TofuHaroto Okay after trying 3 different cables one being hdmi to dvi. I had no luck. Went digging in the basement and found another dvi display and it works. Strange as the first display was working fine through VGA. About a month ago I had it hooked up to a gt 1030 through dvi and it was working. Not sure what the issue is. Sucks because I had bought a DVI-D cable to take advantage of its 75hz capabilities which the one that is working does not have. At least I'm not stuck at 720p though. Thanks to those tagged for your quick responses and suggestions. Case closed!
  2. @ThatOneRussian @HairlessMonkeyBoy @TofuHaroto Okay I can confirm the card is fine. I hooked up a second display. Old 720p tv through hdmi and the card will display out to that. For some reason I just cant get it to display on my main monitor with dvi.
  3. @TofuHaroto I am well aware of the proprietary connector the motherboard uses, there is countless amounts of evidence showing the use of a 24-8 pin adapter works fine and will not fry your board.
  4. @ThatOneRussian Mine actually does, but I have checked to make sure, it is using digital and not analog.
  5. @ThatOneRussian Monitor uses VGA or DVI, the input is correct. @TofuHaroto No friends of the sort, your only thought is the power supply? I'd have to buy a new one.
  6. Yes 6-pin is hooked up. @TofuHaroto @Fasauceome
  7. I've just dropped a 1650 super into my Optiplex 9020MT, for some reason I cant get display to my monitor. It only wants to show up on my monitor using the integrated Intel Graphics. The 1650 is detected in device manager and the bios. Here' is what I've done so far: Unplug the VGA cable connected to the motherboard (obviously) Install latest game ready drivers. Disable Intel HD graphics. Updated to the latest bios. Go into the bios and select NVIDIA HD instead of auto. I've got I.T. class right now (I say this so you guys can leave some complicated instructions without much explanation if needed) so hopefully you guys can leave some extra ideas for me by the time I'm finished. I get a green light on my monitor saying it is on instead of in standby when its only connected to the 1650 super, the screen is just black it wont even show the dell logo on boot or show me the bios just no display what so ever. Thanks!
  8. A little weird backstory before I start, since it might matter. I recently had a big issue with a build I was putting together. I had an rx580 that would not start up. Fans would spin for a moment and then nothing. This was a newly put together build that had a Ryzen 5 1600, so no integrated graphics. Since I couldn't get the rx580 to start. I pulled a gt1030 from an old system to see if I could get display out. This was successful but I shortly began getting blue screens of multiple types within seconds of booting into windows, and eventually no more display out. Upon returning the 1030 to it's original system. It was giving no display out again. I removed the card and booted with integrated graphics, un installed the 1030 drivers, put the card back in and got display out from the card again. This is where I run into my problem. Once I install the drivers the screen goes black. I'm not exactly sure what is going on here. It seems the generic drivers windows gives the card once its detected work, but the moment the nvidia drivers finish installing (before and after a restart) I lose my display. Any ideas on where to start with this one?
  9. Interesting. Looks like my board cant boot from the nvme. Still could be used for storage apparently. I'll have to look for a low profile card then. My sff media pc has the same issue but could use the extra storage. Saved me from a pointless purchase. Thanks!
  10. Alright. I've got an nvme m.2 drive laying around. My mobo has no m.2 slot so I'll be picking up a pci-e card to place it in. I currently have two drives. 512gb 2.5in SSD for my OS and a 2TB HDD for my games library. Obviously I'd want to switch to the nvme for my boot drive. Once I clone the 2.5in to the new nvme. Will the games installed on my HDD still work? Or am I going to have to reinstall everything? Some are steam games, some battle.net, some are just stand alone.
  11. Just came across this post as I am also currently upgrading a 9020MT. I'd like to point out that ssd. I used velcro command strips to mount mine. I put the HDD on the bottom slot and mounted the ssd to the underside of the top of the drive bay. Also from the last photo I see you have that orange sata cable in the wrong port (It has slower speeds) follow the cable from the original HDD to the port its connected to. There are two ports there one is blue and one is black I believe. You want the ssd hooked up over there. I've already got 32gb of ram in mine at 1600mhz. Waiting on a 1650 super in the mail, should arrive on Monday or Tuesday coming up. I'll be using a sata to 6-pin power cable to hook it up. No psu upgrade.
