  1. Are there any suppliers for 16mm bare aluminum tubing. I have this idea for an aircraft themed casemod and I thought I would try to do the cooling with something to mimic the clear anodized aluminum tubing used on aircraft hydraulics along with anodized blue and red fittings. Would 'off the shelf' 16mm aluminum tubing be fine with PC cooling fittings?
  2. I might consider it if it's less than $1000, but my NVME sticks are capped at gen3 so it isn't going to help me a ton there unless I want to spend another $2k on new M.2's. That's my fault for getting the Sabrent Rockets instead of the Rocket Q's when I was buying.
  3. Haven't had any crashes since disabling the c-states. Generally would have had one or maybe two by now, so I think windows interactions with that might have been the issue. Gonna leave them disabled for a few weeks then try again when a new bios comes out, I guess. This isn't going to do any long term damage or shorten the lifespan of the CPU is it? It's mainly just going to use more power when it's not asleep, right?
  4. How is the monitor connected, have you tried connecting from the onboard graphics port to your monitor? Make sure and go through the No Post Thread.
  5. Already grabbed all the latest drivers when I built it, there were several things that wouldn't let me do a stable boot until I had them. I went ahead and disabled C-states, we'll see if that helps. I appreciate the advice. I'm going to leave the thread open for now, in case anyone else wants to chime in.
  6. Does that mean I'll have to wait for Windows to update it's drivers?
  7. Yeah, BIOS was updated to latest (F7C) when I built the system, and is dated 5/28. Win10 is version 2004, but that only installed on the 11th (3 days ago) and the crashes were happening prior to that.
  8. Build: Intel i9-10900k cpu Gigabyte Aorus Xtreme motherboard (BIOS build F7c dated 5/28/2020 was installed when I built the system) Quadro RTX 6000 video card (driver version 442.92, also installed after problem first exhibited) 128GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro memory 2TB Sabrent Rocket M.2 Boot Drive EVGA Supernova 1000 G5 Power Supply Win10 build 2004 (problem predates this build install) It's running pretty stable on Win10, I can go 3-4 days without a single problem but then will hit a random crash. Other times it will only be a few hours after a previous crash. When it does crash, it is not BSOD'ing, just freezing then trying to reboot. On reboot the BIOS will fail to load and give the choice of "load optimal settings and boot, load optimal setting and reboot, or enter bios." It won't recognize the boot drive until I have restored the BIOS settings. It will do this whether I am overclocked or not, whether I have XMP disabled or not. I don't think it's anything I am doing that is causing it because it commonly happens when I am AFK, though not always. If I had to guess, I'd say it's not windows doing it because no BSOD. I'm not seeing any pertinent info in the crash logs, only "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly." when it has rebooted.
  9. So, I ended up not using the Cool Master. Like I told @TVwazhere, I hadn't really found a case that jumped out at me so I was open to changing the case to a more effective one. Well, just as I was about to get the Cool Master I found one that jumped out at me; the Thermaltake Core P7. I only plan to use the center section initially until I have the cooling system built up, but I think it will make it easy to expand later on.
  10. Should I pre-dust mine? I don't want to take years to build up a patina like that. Thank's for the quick input, I appreciate it immensely.
  11. I have the above mentioned EVGA G5 and a I connecting it to a Quadro RTX 6000. The Quadro has 8 pin + 6 pin connections. Each PCIE cable from EVGA has 2X 6+2 pin connections. I could connect one 6+2 to the 8 pin and the other to just the 6 pin, thus using only a single cable to power the GPU, but is that going to provide enough power? Or should I use two cables and connect only one 6+2 connector from each? I realize that the standard answer would be to use one cable/both connectors, but this GPU is rated at 250W and I was under the impression that the cable setups themselves are only rated for 150W. Any help or insight would be appreciated.
  12. That is pretty solid advice, thank you. I think it'll be the Cool Master
  13. I'm not married to the case like I am the mobo. This was simply one that seemed nice. Of the two you recommend, the Cool Master one seems nice. I do plan to do front and top radiators, but is it okay to leave those 200mm's on the front if I have a 360 radiator with it's fans also on the front? They look cool and I think I'd like to leave them on. Also, what's your take on the Thermaltake View 71?
  14. While most of the time budget would be a valid argument, I believe I have made it clear that it isn't this time. I mean, I don't plan to go off and spend $50k on it, but and extra $900 for the mobo isn't going to break the bank by any stretch of the imagination. I am sorry if I came across as implying such, but let me reiterate, my budget stated budget of 10k is only a rough number and and I am not going to hold myself purely to it. I am building the system I want and it can include things like expensive parts that are there purely for the aesthetic, so long as they also function to increase the power of the system. And let me be clear, out of all the mobo's I looked at, this is the first one that really jumped out at me. The specs are near the top end of most scores I've seen for Z490 mobo's, therefore it is a perfectly acceptable choice for me. Now I am mainly looking for critiques of the system itself, bottlenecks that might get in the way of performance.
  15. That was purely an aesthetic choice, I saw it and liked the look immediately. I checked the specs and it worked well with the parts I was planning, so I went for it.
