I've cloned jillions of SSDs and never had an issue as long as you're using decent software: Macrium etc. The only time things get janky if you're using trashware like clonezilla, or trying to migrate from behind RAID 1, etc. I have a different arsenal of tricks for this.
 
I prefer to keep my OS drive on a smaller, independent drive for one reason: disaster recovery. It makes it easier and faster to do backups and treat bulk data differently when they are on different logical or physical drives. I treat critical production servers this way and home PCs. A 100-150Gb OS drive is pretty easy to backup and restore if things go pear shaped. A 1TB OS and data drive is a lot more cumbersome.

I'd personally prefer NVME for OS drive, but I agree you wont notice the difference unless you run out of RAM.

Me, I tend to just use the bigger one as non OS.
Since that'll where I install stuffs to.

If we're talking about speed, I doubt it's that much noticeable unless you count the miliseconds on boot.
As for games or apps load speed, I don't think there's a significant difference between an NVME and SSD

not going to be a noticeable difference either way, but i find it easier/less work to just add the 550 as the storage drive(D:).

Yeah, but you can get much smaller ones. I doubt your 12 Fan will require a 7Ah battery.

I actually just unplugged my hdd to check. It’s been there for a while so I doubt that’s it but it’s pretty old.  Could’ve died by now. 

I don’t know what fixed it. I reseated my gpu. Tried to turn it on but that didn’t fix it. Then I hit the reset button on my front panel and it came up to the bios and I was able to boot into windows. Just glad it’s working now. 

I have a macbook pro with both macOS Big Sur and windows 10 on it. I shrunk one of my partitions so I could also install Linux. I have rEFind installed so I can boot to all the OS’s. I booted to my flash drive with PopOS on it. Selected advanced install opened goateed from there. And formatted the 128gb partition I made as ext4. Then it showed it failed and my entire drive was unallocated. I instantly shut off my MacBook. I can still boot to macOS normal but if I try to boot to windows it just stays on a black screen. I can’t seem to figure out the problem so I’m not sure where to go from here.

Well you were on the right track atleast. Lesson learned.

I’ve been looking for the absolute cheapest monitor possible. All I need in it is to have hdmi. I’d like it to be under 30 bucks. I don’t care the resolution or brand or anything. I’ve been searching on eBay just for some old piece of junk but I’m having trouble.

Look on Craigslist or NextDoor or Facebook Marketplace for used monitors around you.  Usually local pricing is much cheaper for people throwing stuff away.

If he is buying in April like you said, the updated bios should already be pre installed on the board, but otherwise, the motherboard has a flash bios feature which lets you update the bios without an old CPU. Your friend should be fine without an old CPU.

seriously though, just because it runs fine in benchmarks doesn't mean it's stable, it needs to be tested in several games too, because they don't use all the same resources / have the same requirements...

try it at stock settings for a few days/week and if no crashes, then slowly increase core and memory OC until you start experiencing it again.

I’m hoping to get Java soon. But I already had bedrock from like 5 years ago so haven’t felt the need to yet. Really for me the only difference is servers. 

@Rylyguy just to add onto my last comment. Don't like cut and paste the entire User folder since you would want to keep stuff like AppData where it is. But your Photos, Music, Videos, etc. can be moved around to wherever you want.
