  1. I actually changed it from uxa to sna and that seems to have done the trick! But I do appreciate the accelmethod bit, I wouldn't have known about it otherwise
  2. So I removed the tearfree line from the Intel config, replaced the option with dri3. My system is stable again but I have screen tearing once more. There must be more I need to write in that config
  3. I don't know if it's relevant, but I recently enabled the tearfree option with the Intel driver. These problems didn't arise until I did that.
  4. Ok I gave that a try and now that same video looks like this. I've tried changing the settings for the hardware accelerated decoding, and the other options only made it worse. 20200703_020130.mp4
  5. Ok, I will try that. But I'm going to be honest, I'm very new to this and don't know what snap is or how to do that. So you suggest reinstalling Ubuntu with an earlier version, too?
  6. Yeah I couldn't upload anything last night. I typically only use VLC because it's louder than the native video player. Ubuntu is 20.04 LTS. VLC is 3.0.9.2
  7. It's an Asus transformer mini, two in one laptop. I won't be able to do that
  8. I'll be watching video using VLC and randomly it will crash and do this. I've installed the codecs, disabled flash in chromium, and I'm still getting this issue. Since disabling flash, I haven't had it happen again while watching YouTube. But this is becoming a recurring issue with anything locally stored. I tried uploading a video but my connection isn't very good today, but it's literally a broken record. 20200702_004025.mp4 20200702_004025.mp4
