  1. I think you're missing the point. I am a Youtuber too, I know what these contracts look like - there is a difference between a sponsor spot in your video, a dedicated ad to use wherever they want, and using an ad composed of the cut-up, aforementioned sponsor spot (like the ad posted earlier). There is a big difference between "I will advertise you in my video" and "you can use my content for your own ads". As LogicalDrm says, it is probably all absolutely legit. All I'm doing, is bringing attention to it just in case.
  2. Yes, this ad. It's the first time I've seen it, which is why I posted about it. The fact if they are allowed to play LMG content as an ad this way depends on the contract between LMG and Honey. Not saying Honey did something wrong, they probably have a contract that allows it, posted this just in case, because of the "probably"
  3. I just got an ad for Honey on Youtube composed of cut up bits of Linus talking about it (mentioning scrapyard wars in that). I'm assuming you guys know about it and authorised it, but wanted to post just in case.
  4. Do you have experience with them? How good is the cooling?
  5. I have only found the 120Hz variant of Lenovo in my country (Poland)
  6. Hm, good point, I will consider a 4800H option after all, though I'll probably still go for a Hyperbook - they have 4800H in 15 and 17 inch factors and the displays are better than in the Lenovo. On the other hand I can downclock the 3950X on my own. I already have it and might use it when the time comes for an upgrade.
  7. They sell it with 3950X, so I doubt it would overload. That would be a warranty nightmare for them and we are in the EU, so this stuff is mostly enforced 4800H, from the benchmaks I've seen, is 0 to 10% faster only, depending on the use case, though the 3600 runs hotter of course The Eluktronics laptops look similar to Hyperbook and Dream Machines - I would probably prefer a local integrator like them due to European Union consumer protections (like 14 days to return anything). They also have options with the 4800H, but the desktop variant is tempting
  8. G14 - all I found on offer was a maximum of 16GB RAM and I want 32, so it's out. Lenovo I found with 32GB, so it is a good option. I think I will go with a hyperbook though, with Ryzen 5 3600 (which apparently performs just as well as the 4800H and I can swap my 3950X there later), specced up to 500gig ssd and 32 gigs of ram, with 1660Ti (there are versions up to 2070, but it feels pointless). I called them and they sad they put lp156wfg-spb1 panels in with 99% srgb coverage - still have to look that one up. It will be slightly moe expensive, but the desktop AM4 socket upgradebility seems worth it. I might be wrong. Thank you for all your help and I will probably buying next month, so if anyone has more pointers, I welcome them. Here is the huge link to the Hyperbook if you guys are interested: https://www.hyperbook.pl/sklep/gb/notebooks/246-hyperbook-nh5-zen-amd-ryzen-gtx-1660ti.html#/m2_ssd_drive_1-intel_ssd_512gb_660p_m2_nvme_6gb_s_read_write_1500_1000mb_s/hdd_ssd_25-none/ram-32_gb_2_x_16_ddr4_2666_mhz_cl15/kalibracja_ekranu-none/profesjonalne_testy_wydajnosci_podzespolow_i_jakosci_sprzetu-professional_assembly_and_test/cooling_system-standard_cooling_system/thermal_paste-thermal_grizzly_kryonaut_on_cpu_and_gpu/sl_series_keyboard-multicolor_backlite_keyboard/office_software-none/warranty-standard_24_months/additional_service-none/cpu_do_nh5zen-amd_desktop_ryzen_5_3600_zen_2_6_x_36ghz_do_42ghz_turbo_35mb_cache_65w/cd_dvd-none/system_operacyjny-none/bios_customization-default_hyperbook_logo_while_booting_the_computer/av_software-none/wifi4-intel_dual_band_ax200_wi_fi_6_bluetooth/drugi_dysk_ssd_m2-none/gtx_1660ti_6gb-nvidia_geforce_gtx_1660ti_6gb/156_144hz-156_fhd_1920x1080_ips_144hz_non_glare/os-windows_10_pro_trial_30_days EDIT: Do you mean that one? https://www.eluktronics.com/THICC-15/
  9. Display - work will be done on the laptop display mostly (I have a workstation at home, this is for use elsewhere), but color accuracy is not that important. I do youtube gaming videos and usually don't do any color correction. The editing is cuts and audio adjustment and the most important feature is for the laptop to edit smoothly, without hangups while navigating the timeline. I guess that leaves me with the Lenovo and the G14. Alternatively I have found a company called Dream Machines ( https://www.dreammachines.pl/en/laptops ) that build laptops in Clevo cases and use the desktop AM4 socket, so even 3900X would seemingly be an option there. Unfortunately they are significantly more expensive in a high-end configuration. This is a Polish company, but I live in Poland. EDIT: Seems like there are more companies like that, Hyperbook Pulsar would be another custom one with the 4800H chip
  10. Thanks for the quick response. The Lenovo Legion 5 and ASUS TUF are available to me. There is also MSI Bravo 17. Hardware Unboxed reported some issues with the TUF and the MSI has AMD graphics (I favor NVIDIA, but could adapt if it works well with Resolve). - what do you think? I also found a laptop with the 4800HS - Zephyrus G14 - but the HS chip is reportedly worse (?) and it is more expensive - is it worth considering for build quality and such? EDIT: MSI is available for preorder EDIT2: looks like I will go with your recommendation and get the Legion 5
  11. Hello! I'm considering getting a laptop that will be used as a mobile workstation. I'd like to keep it within $1000, but can spend more if it's worth it. USES: It will mostly be used for editing video in DaVinci Resolve. 1440p footage, possibly 4K in the future. The screen does not need to be that resolution, 1080p should suffice, because the editing is mostly cuts and audio. Gaming performance is not importnat, but a nice IPS screen is welcome. What I'm considering - there are several laptops with the Ryzen 7 4800H CPU that should do nicely for editing with 8/16 cores. If you recommend this CPU - which laptop? If not - why and what should I get instead? I was considering getting a used, refurbished mobile worksation, but with mobile Ryzen 4000 series it seems pointless. Nevertheless, I am open to used hardware. I am in Poland, so some machines might not be available - if you have several recommendations, please include them all. Thank you EDIT: silent performance is a bonus
  12. I did some testing last year, but I don't remember the details. I think I ran it with DOCP off and it was fine, but I will try that when I have a moment. Could it be a motherboard issue?
  13. Hello, First post, and of course it's because I need help. Problem: I built a new machine late last year and I have a problem with my RAM. It should run at 3200 MHz CL16, but it only runs properly at stock (2133 I think). When I turn DOCP, it does run at the advertised specs, but sometimes my computer will just not turn on. More specifically, it will often not turn on when cold. For example when I get up in the morning or return home after a few hours of not using it, it will not post, everything will power up, but there is only a black screen. I'm not absulutely sure about this, but I think the motherboard shows the LED for memory. If I then use the restart button on the case, it will boot up properly. I could just keep doing it like that, but it is annoying and I'm concerned doing a hard reset so often might be damaging my system. If I boot it up after a short time, say after using it, it usually boots fine. If I turn DOCP off, it works like a charm, but then I'm only getting the basic speeds. The momeory apparently has a Samsung B die and should clock up, but when I tried using values from the RAM calculator for Ryzen, it either went into a reboot cycle until it went to bios to revert, or I have to clear CMOS to make it work again because it hangs on the black screen forever (had that happen at least twice). I updated the bios to the latest one a few weeks ago and still had the same issue. The CPU is running on stock settings. I have a huge PSU and the power is going through a UPS. At this point I'm just running it stock, which is a bummer. Any advice?
