I grabbed the Leadex III Gold as it seems to be the best 850w unit under $150. Quick question, though, I have an RM850 (newer model non x) in my system with a 3090 currently. Which should I use in my system and which for mining 2-3 GPUs (3080s and 3070s)? I'm sure it probably doesn't matter but thought I'd ask.. The Toms Hardware said something about the RM850 supporting some Windows feature to allow faster boots so maybe just keep that installed?

I should of been more specific, I'm sorry. See my previous reply. I'll be mining a few GPUs and just want to make sure it's adequate. I assumed the sticky would be ideal to look at for one or two GPU systems used primarily for gaming, but maybe it's good for everything?

850w, sorry. Mining yes. I'll keep my 3090 in my primary system and probably run 2x 3070s and 1x 3080 for now on the Leadex III. CPU shouldn't pull much.

Looking at the Leadex III for $129 on sale at Newegg, anything else I should consider? Will be running 2-3 GPUs on it. Can increase budget if necessary. Thanks!

That's what I was wondering, thanks! Is there anything I can do to try and fix it? Like can it be a temperature problem or something? It worked fine before I mailed it out and now all of a sudden it doesn't work, which I understand can happen but I want to try lol.

Hey guys! So I'm trying to test a 1080 TI (Aorus) that I received in the mail after selling it to someone who said it doesn't work. It worked before I sent it out. My primary GPU in this PC is also a 1080 Ti Gaming X so drivers should be the same? Now when I try only this new GPU I can get to windows but there's artifacts all over on the screen. Says there's no drivers installed so I tried installing through GeForce without deleting the old. No display and can't get the PC to get through the loading screen when it does show something. The Gaming X still works fine when I swap them. But I'm curious if it can still mine because then it has some value right? So I'm trying to run it in the second GPU slot on my B550 Gaming Carbon but I can't get past BIOS with both GPUs installed. Is this even worth attempting with a B550 or should I try it on an X570 where it should definitely work (if the card allows)? I'll be grabbing one either way so not a big deal. I just want to see if it's still good for mining even if the display out doesn't work as I have other cards good for that and gaming on lol. So is this a B550 problem or if the card is good should it work on B550 in the second slot? According to MSIs website, the second slot supports PCIe 3.0 x16 at x4. Not really sure how else to test this GPU until I can get some more parts but any help at all would be appreciated!

Like previously said, that's almost every board between B550 and X570. For B450/X470, you'll have to check the specs of the board. If you want a good recommendation then grab a B550 Tomahawk if you don't need wifi or the B550 Edge Wifi / Gaming Carbon if you do need wifi.

I agree about the 10X, I lowered it to 1X because I was having issues in Warzone and I think that was it. The memory timings yield 55ns in Aida64 and passes memtest86, so I don't find it that strange. I can't run 16-16-16-16-36 with this Micron E Die like you can with Samsung B Die, but nonetheless, it performs great!

So I made a post about the 5900X when I had it and I had some of the best performance out there. Now I have a 5600X (traded up to grab a 6900 XT to play with) and maybe this information might be useful to someone.. Using PBO in combination with the Curve Optimizer results in the best performance you can possibly get out of the new Ryzen 5000 series CPUs. This has been my experience with the 5900X I had and now the new 5600X I'm using. Check my previous post if you want to see my post about the 5900X (most of this stuff applies to all 5000 series). This has made all core overclocking practically useless for Ryzen, unless you need to conserve power in something like an SFF/ITX case. I get higher all core performance (4.85GHz) than I could possible get by setting it manually (most I could get was like 4.6 or 4.7GHz). I'm running a B550 Gaming Carbon with a Ryzen 5600X (240mm AIO), 3600c16 Crucial Ballistix RGB, and a Reference 6900 XT. My RAM is currently running 4000MHz 16-17-16-16-36 1T 1:1 with Infinity Fabric (must set manually), am getting some WHEA ERRORS. With PBO + Curve Optimizer I'm able to run my 5600X around 4.85GHz, all core, while gaming. Now it's not quite like the 5150MHz I was getting on my 5900X, but it's great nonetheless. r20: 4717 multi, 622 single R23: 12,144 multi (no single yet) Geekbench 5: 9675 multi and 1679 single My 5600X runs over 4.7GHz the entire time during those runs, which is pretty damn good (close to a good 3700X while beating some slower ones). Temps only reached 74C max during each run. In Prime95, I get around 84C for 5-10 minutes. SETTINGS: I have PBO settings maxed out in the BIOS: PBO: Advanced PBO Limits: Motherboard PBO Scalar: 10X PBO Boost Clock Override: 200MHz Platform Thermal Throttle Limit: 255 CURVE OPTIMIZER: Negative 20 all core. LLC: Level 1 (not sure if necessary) My 5900X liked per core on the Curve Optimizer and benefitted from different values (check previous post). Your results may vary and should be tested to find the best settings/results. I'm not touching any other voltages or anything like that. CPU voltage is auto still. That's it!

On my MSI, there are two places for PBO as well. What I found out is that one place just adjusts it in the other place. The primary source for PBO seems to be under "AMD Overclocking." Either spot should yield the same results but just in case, make sure both spots are tuned the same.

That is the max but my older MSI BIOS allowed lower numbers for some reason, whether they did anything or not, I don't know lol. That one is nice lol. I could only do 4.7GHz all core but I was able to play with and run some benchmarks by overclocking per CCD, 4.9GHz and 4.8GHz. Wasn't stable, though. But you might have better luck instead of doing all core..

Nailed it! Looks like the r9 390 that I see online, thanks so much! They don't seem to know much about computers, the picture they sent of the AMD control panel said 6800 xt. Hopefully they can clarify things, but it doesn't look good lol.

Hey, I'm trying to buy a 6800 XT from a local seller and they're claiming this is a 6800 XT that came inside their prebuilt. I can't find a picture online to verify what it is.. Anyone know? The price is very reasonable but it's a two hour drive so I would hate to waste the time to find out it's not a 6800 XT when I get there lol.

What about using an Aptx Low Latency dongle to connect your bluetooth headphones? I just discovered this while browsing reddit and I'm kind of curious but haven't done much research on it yet.

I've never used a good air cooler as I went straight to AIOs and custom loops when I started building about 3 years ago. But right now I have a cheap $70 240 Cooler Master AIO (until I do another custom loop when I get 68(9)00 XT) and I'm barely hitting 70C while gaming for hours, mostly Warzone, MW, and Apex. I'm honestly surprised how cool it's keeping my 5900X, but I also think I got pretty decent silicon. I'll check my temps while running r20/r23 and report back, but like the other guy (girl?) said, AIOs take longer to reach equilibrium, so gaming is really the only good way to measure temps (unless you do other intensive things like video editing/streaming). I forgot what the user had but I think they had the same cooler as you and they said they were getting 10-15C+ higher temps than me in Warzone. To your earlier truly: I don't undervolt and the only time I tried it locked my frequency so I haven't tried since, but might give it a go when the next BIOS comes out for my board.

Glad it helped you! I haven't bothered with it much more since, I actually backed off slightly in favor of stability. Latest BIOS on my MSI B550 decreases performance and boost clocks, BIOS version definitely plays a role as well. I reverted to the previous one.

Is this a brand new build? Did you replace any parts or is this the first time they're all being used?

Would I lose any audio quality by using my type c earbuds (from my galaxy s20) for gaming on my PC? I haven't tried them yet but I'm just curious as I've been wanting to try earbuds for FPS games as I read they're great for hearing footsteps. I know the audio port on the front of my case is connected to the onboard audio built into the motherboard (B550 Gaming Carbon) but I have no clue about the USB ports. I guess I can also try my Corsair HS60 USB dongle and just use a USB A to USB C adapter? MERRY CHRISTMAS

I would just do an all core overclock through the BIOS. That's what I did when I had my 2600X. I think I had 4.275MHz stable as a daily OC. Results vary per chip so do some testing.

Only reason to upgrade would be if you wanted or needed more cores. If your CPU isn't limiting your experience then I think you'll be fine for a while. Wait another gen or two so you'll see a bigger uplift in performance.

After doing tons of research, I chose Kaihl Box Whites on my new keyboard and I'm damn happy I did. Just watch a couple YouTube videos and you'll see (or hear) the difference. I would also take Gateron Blues over Cherry MX. Glad I got a hotswap board, so I can play with other ones, too (not Cherry MX lol). Everyone has their own preference, though. But there's no way in hell Cherry MX is worth more than Gaterons or Kaihl Box switches if you're looking for a keyboard. They may have BEEN the best at one point, but that time has come and gone.

Just to throw out other options.. I just shopped/researched around for the last two weeks before buying a mechanical keyboard. I was looking at the Vulkan TKL Pro myself, along with the Apex 7 TKL and G915 TKL, because I really wanted a smaller keyboard.. I also thought I wanted a low profile but started considering other options. But then I started looking at other options and decided I wanted a hot swap board so I can change out the switches later to change things up a little. I looked at gamer brands and non gamer brands.. Ultimately, I went with the Drop ALT with Kaihl Box White switches, and I'm not disappointed one bit! The Drop CTRL is nice if you need the extra buttons. But some really good keyboards are the Ducky One 2, Durgod Venus/Hades, Anne Pro 2, GK68X, GMMK, etc.. Some of those come in different sizes, too.

I bought a used 1080 ti until I can grab one of the new ones.
