So I upgraded my old 8gb stick of ram with G.Skill Ripjaws 16gb kit, but with both sticks of RAM on the dual channel slots I don’t get a post, just a motherboard RAM error light.
I took one of the sticks out, and my system boots just fine. I put both of the sticks right next to each other on the mobo, and it boots just fine (although my motherboard gives me a message to place the RAM in the “optimized” slot, yet boots up fine) picking up the full amount of memory.
I benchmarked my system with this configuration and the RAM wasn’t running at its full potential.
I updated my BIOS and installed some drivers on the motherboard, but it still won’t boot with the dual channel configuration. Is there something I’m doing wrong?CPU: i5 8400
Motherboard: MSI B360 Gaming Pro
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 3200MHz 16GB
GPU: GTX 1060
PSU: EVGA 500w
I’ll add that the system itself is practically brand new besides the old RAM that wasn’t being replaced until today.
Dual Channel RAM doesn’t work but single stick does

Unlucky, the motherboard is brand new and I’ve been using it for a few weeks with a 8gb in the second left slot and it’s been working fine
