  1. I tried that, but seems like everything smells the same.
  2. I was playing call of duty and those are them temps that they were at. I’d say the GPU sat at 69 Celsius while I played and the cpu at 56.
  3. Okay I’ll check for that when I get back from work. I know when I was doing my cable management I did store some of the cords next to the battery. I also was thinking that it could just be the fans getting used for the first time, as all four are new.
  4. So I recently moved all my parts to a new pc case, specifically the NZXT h510 elite. I’m new to building PCs and mostly used YouTube tutorials and some knowledge from friends to complete the build. One I booted the pc up and started playing some games, I noticed there was a faint smell of burning plastic. Using the NZXT software that comes with the case I can see that my cpu sits at 50-60 Celsius, where my GPU is between 60-70 Celsius. I don’t think my parts are overheating, but my PC did shut off in the middle of a game once and hasn’t happened again today, but the smell still persists. Another thing I noticed was that my cpu was “working” 100% where my GPU is only using minimum at 15-20%. I have a ryzen 5 1500x and a gtx 1060 6gb. My overall question would be, where could this smell be coming from and why? And is my GPU and CPU experiencing any bottlenecking?
  5. Final question, I shouldn't have any problems moving all my parts into one of these cases right? or do I need a case specifically for my type of mother board, etc?
  6. Makes sense, I was recommended to get that card before and think ill look for one. I'm not too familiar with upgrading BIOS versions, but I think I can figure it out. Any recommendations on a case? And is my graphics card good if i upgrade to a better CPU?
  7. What case would you recommend? I'm mainly looking for a better looking case, one with a glass panel or something, I'm glad you said something, because I don't want to sacrifice performance for looks.
  8. Thanks for the response! I think I would want to go up to 144hz if its realistic with most my parts now, The new ram I got was the ram you recommended, so I think I'm good in that sense.

  10. Budget (including currency): $500 or less dollars Country: United states Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I mostly play FPS games like call of duty, league of legends. I am trying to get my pc where I want it before the release of the new halo next year. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): At this point I want to play at 1080p without any problems. So I had my first pc built by a company that my dad knew, because I had no clue about anything with PC’s. Ever since I had that built, I have experienced many problems with my pc, crashing, giving file errors, and just not allowing me to run anything at decent frames. Later I found out they sold me an old graphics card used for bit coin and had to re-purchase one myself. I am currently using a GTX 1060 6gb card, and 16 gb of ram. This has allowed me to run my FPS games, and get okay results. I would say my goal is to move my entire build into an NZXT case, but don't know which case would work best for my parts. Also I would like to hear opinions on what GPU or CPU I should upgrade to if need be, and overall just a solid plan I can use to upgrade my PC. If you have any further questions on my PC, I will gladly answer. just need
  11. Okay, thanks man, I appreciate all the advice. Think I’ll find a RTX 2070 for used like you suggested. And maybe look further into the right CPU for that card. Not too worried about the waiting on the monitor, as long as it gets me closer to my dream build.
  12. Okay, that makes allot of sense. Thanks for clearing that up. I was struggling on what to focus on. Glad to hear the monitor can wait.
  13. Oh okay, so what steps and how should I take them?
  14. Appreciate the response, do you think changing the monitor would be a good idea?
  15. Sorry, yeah I’m willing to pay up to $450-500 I’d say. But overall trying to find the cheapest options that would give me better performance than the things I already have. If it helps. I was thinking of getting a RTX 2070 in the future, and another thing was a predator XB271HU monitor.
  16. Budget (including currency): want to keep it relatively cheap, but not too cheap. (Willing to spend a bit to make it better) Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: FPS games, and league of legends, sometimes adventure games not often tho. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So I had my first pc built by a company that my dad knew, because I had no clue about anything with PC’s. This has allowed me to run my FPS games, and get okay results. Now I am looking to upgrade my pc a little more, if that’s the GPU, CPU, or even the monitor. I am using a BenQ monitor, GL2460-B. Capping me off at 60 frames. My plan of action was to purchase a predator monitor to get more frames out of my graphics card. Or find any other problems with my build, that would improve my games the most. Please give me your opinions! Thank you! -attached parts list used in initial build-
