  1. I havent really looked into it, I am more intrested for new right now maybe in a few days when I am desperate
  2. That is actually very usefull information. She was using 2013 version if I am not mistaken. But when it comes to how complex the work she does on autocad is, I dont know. All I know is that she is mainly using other lighter programs to make sure buidlings wont fall
  3. Hey Kisai, I understand what u are saying, but on the other hand she was making ends meet with a 2007 ati radeon x1600 until now... The quadros and 2070 are more than the hole budget alone Also autocad is not her main work application. The main ones are much lighter
  4. Hi, thanks for answer. Her budget is under 500 euros, but the lower you can go, the better
  5. Hello, So I am building a computer for a friend and she is on a tight budget. She is an architect and she is mostly going to be using some architect programs and autocad for 2d applications. After some digging I realized that a gpu is not really required, so to further lower the budget I decided not to use one. So the options I have are the 1. ryzen 5 3400g 2. the i5-10400 3. i3-9400f + rx 580 8g. Obviously the last option is the most expensive. I am not really sure what would perform better for autocad. From what I ve read, autocad would need better single-core performace and I think the r5 3400g would provide that, but it only has 4 compared to 6 cores on the 10400. On top of that, 3400g has radeon vega 11 grahics which beat intel's 630 easy. If I choose intel i5 I am a little bit concerned that the graphics wont be sufficient for the 2d applications she works on. On the last option, I am not sure that the i3 will be good enough to give her the best performance since these programs require better single core perfomance(also no hyperthreading), but it has an actual gpu. Her old computer was using an ati radeon x1600 and a core 2 duo from the same era so anything is pretty much an upgrade So what do you think would work better for autocad? If anyone has another combo in their mind, all info is well appreciated
  6. Hi guys and thanks for the answers. I eventually went for the 500W option. as @Fasauceome said, i do have enough room for upgrade. Also, I saw the effiency curve of the seasonic core series and it reaches maximum efficiency of 90% at around 40-50% load, so 200-250W for the 500W psu. I believe that is what my pc will be drawing most of the time(idle-netfix-youtube) and it hits the 90% efficiency right in the spot. On the other hand for 650 unit, the 200-250W range == 30-40% load, at which range I would get an efficiecy of below 90%. Also the 500W unit being semi-modular and cheaper... The 650 unit would give me better efficiency under load(gaming etc.), but its fine, I dont game that much. Thanks for the answers anyway
  7. I am looking to buy a new psu. This is my system: cpu: amd ryzen 5 3600 gpu: msi radeon rx 580 8gb oc mobo: gigabyte aorus pro b450 ram: 2x8gb corsair vengence 3000mhz storage: 1x ssd 250gb | 1x hdd 500gb 7200rpm fans: 3x140mm | 1x120mm So after searching for a while in the available shops I figured out the best options I got are Seasonic CORE GC 650 and Seasonic CORE GM 500. They are both 80 gold plus, and I've read some good reviews, but 500 version is semi-modular and 650 version is full-wired. Also the 650 costs about 5 more EUR. So the question is, are 500 watts going to be enough for my system? Or should I get 650 which feels like is going to be an overkill? if there was a 550 or 600 version I would have definatelly gone for that one... I am also thinking about adding 1 or 2 led strips in the feature. Dont know if that contributes at all... Thanks
  8. you can watch this video here until 4:45. After that he does manual overclock. or just do(I am assuming your bios is the same as the guy in the video): 1. Go to M.I.T tab -> Advanced Memory Settings 2. Extreme memory Profile(X.M.P)-> change from disabled to Profile 1 3. Hit F10 and save and exit Run the game and test again
  9. from here get chipset, audio, lan drivers from here get igpu drivers
  10. DId you make sure to download all the latest drivers for your cpu and igpu? maybe you need some audio drivers as well?
  11. Hello everyone, So I had some bluescreen issues and I susspected there was something wrong with my Rams. I have 16gb corsair vengence lpx 3000MHz in 2x8gb dual channel. So I tested them in dual channel with memtest86 and turns out, I got errors. Tested them individually and 1 of the 2 sticks turned out to have errors while the other was good. I am pretty sure corsair wont let me get a warranty claim couse I dont have the receipt. So I was like, okey, just keep the good 8gb stick and buy 1 new 8gb stick and its good as new. My memory is: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4-3000MHz (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15) and the only 8gb 3000MHz stick from corsair than I found was: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4-3000MHz (CMK8GX4M1D3000C16) Now, the problem is that the code names on those 2 are different, whats the difference between D3000 and B3000? Also one has 15 cas letency while the other has 16. This was the only single 8gb stick that I could find from corsair. Will I have a problem with it, or am I screwed and have to buy 2 new ones? Thanks in advance for the answers
