  1. I've found a few options for my ps2 pc project (putting a pc into a ps2 fat). I've got an i5 4570 and gtx 770 I can use, but will need to buy new memory. The motherboard I have found that will fit are the mini itx options such as the Asus q87t. With how small it is, I can fit that and the gpu in but I can't find any info on what type of psu I need. The manual online shows a picture of a socket, a hexagon shape with a label of atx19v. The gpu says it requires 230w and a system power of 600w. Help on this would be really helpful. Thank you
  2. Looks like there's some good deals on 1660 on ebay. Thanks all
  3. I run Windows 10, and with so few apps installed, it's really zippy. I run dolphin emulator and that does games such as Mario double dash fairly well. Cemu for Mario kart 8 is a bit laggy due to shaders compiling. Ps2 upscales nicely, mostly. Struggle to upscale ps1 oddly. I've not tried ps3 but I'd like to, as well as xbox og. Today, after reading up on the amd cards suggested, they might be worse for emulating, even vulkan development coming along. Is there an nvidia card that would be a good option? I will read up on the nvidia gtx 970 too. Thanks all
  4. I have a shuttle sz87r6 with an i5 4570, 16gb ram (can't recall speed) and a msi gtx 770. I use it to game and emulate ps2 and saturn (I own lots of games but since having a baby, I don't want to get out and set up all the kit). Generally, fps and resolution is good for what it is. I'm considering upgrading, to get a boost in performance and have a budget of ~£200/$250. Would a grx card upgrade benefit emulation much? If so, what model would be ideal given the budget? Eg a 2020 card or look at an older one? From my reading, I don't think upgrading the cpu would yield much benefit for the cost... But I could be wrong. Thanks
  5. Thanks all. I will do some more research on this. Much more complex than I expected
  6. I'll have a look at a small cooler too. Any suggestions that would fit a i5 4570 socket?
  7. Hi I was hoping to find a psu with all the connectors ready to go. I'm doubtful I'd have the electrical skills to use a generic laptop power supply and adapt it. Any tips on brand or type of psu to search for?
  8. Seems very likely I'll need to buy an external psu. Any suggestions? I'll order a broken ps2 I can gut and measure up. Thanks so far
  9. Budget (including currency): tbc Country: uk Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: gaming Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi all. I'm hoping you guys might be able to help. I've got a shuttle sz87r6 with an i5 4570, 16gb ram, 500w psu and gtx 770. No cd drive. It works perfectly for what want (gaming at medium settings ish, Web, media etc). It's a nice case but I'm also a big retro gaming fan. What do you think of how well I could put this into a ps2 fat shell? The psu would be an issue I suspect, and potentially the gtx 770 too because of their size. Hopefully someone or a few people could give me a few pointers on how to fix the mother board safely inside (assuming it's small enough), and the gfx card too. If the gfx card is too big, I will measure for a low profile 1050ti. But what can I do about the psu? Any other points to consider? Thank you in advance Mike
