  1. So just for clarity sake, as an NVIDIA GPU user I can benefit from FreeSync, so I dont need a G-Sync enabled monitor? (I am really new to the whole monitor scene )
  2. Good Afternoon All, I am currently looking to get a new monitor, one that will be useful for working from home (Im a software dev so extra screen space is a blessing) and also for gaming. I currently have three very old 1080p 21.5 inch monitors, I will be keeping them but for other purposes. I am keen to get a 1440p monitor with a high refresh rates (144hz ideally) that is also ultrawide for productivity, I am thinking around 32 -34 inches and am struggling to find the best one. I would really appreciate any suggestions on monitors that people have, have seen, things to look out for etc... VA/IPS, whether it has GSYNC or other things. I have seen these two that have peaked my interest but don't have GSYNC or not that I could find, would this make a difference? Or am i missing that they actually have GSYNC? https://www.scan.co.uk/products/34-iiyama-g-master-gb3466wqsu-b1-uwqhd-1500r-va-3440x1440-144hz-1ms-freesync-hdr400-80m1-400cd-m-hdm https://www.scan.co.uk/products/34-acer-nitro-xv340ck-144hz-freesync-hdr-ready-ips-gaming-monitor-3440x1440-1ms-dp-hdmi I have also seen this one but it is still on preorder and OC have confirmed they dont have a date when it might come in, seems to be out of stock elsewhere aswell. - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/gigabyte-34-g34wqc-ek-3440x1440-va-144hz-1ms-freesync-g-sync-compatible-curved-led-backlit-ultrawid-mo-00b-gi.html Secondly, people who have larger monitors do you feel a curved screen makes for a more pleasant viewing experience or does it not make much different at this size? My Computer specs are: Ryzen 7 3700x 16gb Corsair Vengeance 3200Mhz RAM Gigabyte RTX 2080 super 1TB Sabrent Rocket NVME M.2 Drive All and any feedback/advice is greatly appreciated, am looking to see if I can snag a bargain in black friday.
  3. What should I aim for on the 3D test do you think to simulate a heavy triple A title at 1440p?
  4. Amazing! Thats exactly what i wanted, to be able to shut things off when they reach a certain temperature. Thank you so much for your help!
  5. Thank you so much that is fantastic and exactly what I needed to hear! I was thinking of using Cinebench for CPU and UNIGINE Valley for GPU do you think this would be a good indication, I think I have used one before so will give it a go, thanks for your advice!
  6. Ok thank you very much, do you have any advice on how to avoid pushing it too hard, or is that pretty much impossible with one of those programmes?
  7. Interesting and good to know thank you, just wanted to check as thinking of purchasing Control the game which has Ray Tracing so wanted to ensure cooling is adequate before I push it hard Thats good to know thank you If i were to look in the future do you have any brands you can recommend?
  8. Yeah I thought so but wanted to check as you can imagine with my first build That was in a 2012 game though so will test with newer games when I have them downloaded ok thank you thats good to know, how much benefit would I get from more fans do you think?
  9. Hi all, Recently, I bought the parts for my new gaming pc and built my first PC from scratch! Its been running for a few days absolutely fine for long periods, which is a good sign :) My specs are: Ryzen 7 3700X not overclocked yet ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS motherboard Noctua NH-12S for cooling Corsair vengeance 3200mhz 2x8gb RAM not overclocked so running at 2666mhz currently RTX 2080 Super Sabrent Rocker NVME m.2 1TB drive However, the other day I began playing through some of the older games in my steam library e.g Dishonored / Tomb Raider. Out of interest I downloaded speed fan to have a look at the temps and after a long gaming session maxed out settings and having been on all day it reached around 54 degress C for the GPU. I have a Noctua NH-U12S for my CPU with one fan blowing out the back (not mounted on back of case as an exhaust) and I have the Phanteks P400A-DRGB case with three front fans currently and my pc is sat on a desk with decent airflow I have a few questions: 1. What are normal and acceptable temperatures for an air cooled pc , I want to check so that when I get into more demanding games I wont have to worry. 2. I have 5 fan headers on my motherboard so am planning to buy some more fans to attach, one to my CPU cooler to pull air through the cooler and one on the back of the case to keep air flowing through. Should i get some more noctua fans to match my current CPU cooler or are there any other good manufacturers you can suggest. 3. Also in the long run, could I improve cooling even more with using some fans on the roof of the case pulling and pushing air out the filter at the top or is that overkill. 4. Are there any better temperature monitoring tools that are more accurate or forgiving, as speed fan gives the 'too hot' symbol when GPU is anything over 50 degrees C Any help would be appreciated
  10. Can anyone advise on how I would move my old harddrive 2TB seagate barracudda to my new system, I will be doing the install of windows on the NVME m.2 through a free version on a USB i think. Would be nice to make the most of the old drives in my other system, which arent that old.
  11. Even over the Phanteks p400A, i have heard good reviews and also has the added bonus of coming with 3 fans installed ?
  12. Coming to a final decision and am not sure whether to get a Gen 4 or gen 3 pcie on my NVME ssd , can anyone advise, is it worth the extra 60 pounds or will I not feel the benefit on gaming?
  13. I did , doesnt look available to me via prime or anything? Thank you for the suggestion but am keen for a black case to fit where it will be going in new house I also like the sleekness of the cases I mentioned above.
  14. @Kirky2k15 Here is what I was looking at, could you let me know how I would work out the gen of PCIe it uses ? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07ZZYWTBP?tag=pcp0f-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1
