    As a minimalist, no. 🙂

Since you're playing more sightseeing style games rather than competitive shooters, the higher resolution might be worth sticking with. Faster refresh rate will feel smoother both in games and in Windows though.

Yes, it will work. I'm using two PCIe cables from my Corsair HX750i to power a 3-connector EVGA 3080 FTW3.

I don't really know if it would cause damage over the long term. I'm guessing not, but that's just a guess.

It may be a bit of a long shot as to whether it will help your problem or not, but it's a simple thing to try before you start replacing components or do anything more involved.

I think it's more of an issue with uneven contact plates on the coolers. I had the issue with a Hyper 212+. You want it to be snugly held down, but not torqued as hard as you can.

It might be worth trying right away and then see if the problem ever comes back. If it does, then you can look for other solutions.

Also with the memory test, did you run it several times? I've heard you should let it run many times in a row overnight, because a single run won't always catch an error.

Beyond that, I'm not sure I can be much more help. Good luck.
