  1. UPDATE, I did a lot of googling , and it seems to me That the mob is older than the GPU and so won't recognize it without a flash bios updste, so gonna get a USB chip and try it again soon. I may wait for a new antec case, prior to the new build attempt #4
  2. Tried building a new pc recently. I have a B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC amd rx 580 amd ryzen 5 2600x with a cosair CX450 PSU. I have all the rgb lights and fans turning on, the ez debug is detecting everything and then clearing itself as if to confirm it's all good... is the issue the HDMI cable? do i NEED a dvi cable in order to get a post?
  3. people also use motor oil, the trick they claim is to only add a "sheer layer" so that upon full compression, there is no excess "liquid" to leak out between the two surfaces.
  4. Update, I now have thermal paste!, and got a 3 degree drop. I want to also add something, about the toothpaste, I had placed the toothpaste onto a paper towel first, to help absorb water from the toothpaste prior to it's application. When i pulled the heatsink and CPU apart, *pulled the heatsink off*, the toothpaste was rock solid, and just as visually similar as the previous stock applied paste. however, this stuff smelled very minty!, i cleaned all the surfaces prior to reassembly. I don't care really, but toothpaste allowed me to continue using my dell as a gaming PC for 4 days. I would be interested to long test toothpaste later, and actually observe the performance degradation over time. but, not with my budget parts.
  5. should I put some toothpaste in the GPU too??
  6. I recently put some toothpaste in my Dell Optiplex 9020 build, and I've been getting some temperatures that suggest it's OK. Unless, am I reading this wrong? Hardware monitor AMD ADL Temperature 0 71 degC (159 degF) [0x47] (GPU) Hardware monitor Intel I/O Temperature 0 43 degC (109 degF) [0x2B] (GPU) these are the temps of the cores? or the cpu? Temperature 0 48 degC (118 degF) (Package) Temperature 1 46 degC (114 degF) (Core #0) Temperature 2 44 degC (111 degF) (Core #1) Temperature 3 41 degC (105 degF) (Core #2) Temperature 4 42 degC (107 degF) (Core #3)

  9. Just hit CTRL+ALT+DEL, this will open up a windows security menu. then you can get an option to re-open taskmanager. Once you have task manager open, you can use TM to start or run a new task, the task you want to start or run, is "explorer" , or, if you are using the command module, "start explorer.exe" Explorer is "basically" the Graphical User Interface of the windows OS. If you feel like you have to keep manually closing task's yourself, to save CPU availability or ram, then there could be a better solution than always closing them manually, such as, finding what's turning those programs on, and stopping them at the source, for example, you can go to steam and set it to not start when windows turns on. same with skype an discord and a few other types of programs and apps. I hope this helps, even though you probably already fixed the issue.
  10. are you using windows 10? or some other operating system? or console? or phone or tablet?
  11. Any advice or tips on selling an old laptop? I was planning to contact Microsoft support, and see if there is any way to legally transfer an OS license from a microsoft account to the laptop as an OEM sort of deal from me, second hand, that it is originally a second hand pc with windows included.? I am probably overthinking too much on little details, and I don't rally know what's important. I have, Upgraded the ram, from 8gb to 12gb, ddr2. * I think,* I purchased an entirely new charging brick with newly potent amperage, and Battery Cell. and Lastly, I purchased a 960GB SSD to boost the BOOT speed. the laptop was originaly an ASUS N56VM from 2012 , i7- 3610QM https://www.userbenchmark.com/PCBuilder/Custom/S1866-M195.7814.505133.193589vsS1866-M195.7814.505133.193589 don't know if we are allowed to post urls in here, but, What i want to know, is aside from taking picures, is this laptop as ready as it can be, to be sold second hand?
