  1. I am in Canada, It took me a few months after intel released the 10600k to finely get one. I think it had more to do with the COVID, and border closures ect however then available stock.
  2. So back in July I was hungry to upgrade my 6600k to a 10600K. I posted a just a general question about availability. Anyways you AMD Fanboys pounced unrelentlessly on me, about moving to an AMD platform. Some was serious advice, and alot was just busting my balls in good fun..lol Well I finley DID get a 10600k, and mobo, some time in August. And I WISH I LISTENED TO YOU!!!!!! While my 10600k running all cores at 4.9Ghz is still a good chip, AMD is going to rock it with the zen chips. I was also dying to get my hands on an nVidia 3080. Thank GOD i didn't preorder one!!!! Looks like the the AMD 6000 series is going to rock nVidias world. The AMD 6800 looks to better card i think then the 3070. What really surprised be is AMD is putting 16 gigs of GDDR on all three of the top cards. The only downside I think with going over to AMD, is that they know they are going to dominate Intel, and nVidia for a while. I think the AMD prices are going to on par with intel/nVidia if not more. They both know they are going to kick but for the next few years, and seem like they want to reap the rewards. Anways,
  3. Has anyone in Canada been able to purchase a 3080 from a Canadian retailer? Have they ever even been shipped to Canada? Yesterday I got a Notification from Amazon Canada saying the 3080 TUF was in stock. I was so excited, but it turned out to be a random never heard of seller, who was charging about $2,500 CAD, so obviously I wouldn't even consider it. Who knows, maybe even a scam. So any Canadians managed to get one from a legit Canadian retailer? Honestly, even though I want a 3080, the fact it likely wont trickle up to Canada for maybe a couple months is actually a good thing...i think. Because by then, the 3070 would have been released and benchmarked, and likely the AMD cards too. . So there should be a very good consensus on which cards have the best value, cooling, performance, price for many different setups, resolutions, and game genres. And by the end of October early November with all this info in, the 3000 series should start(Hopefully) to begin to trickle in with much higher stock levels.
  4. Ok all! Thanks for the feedback, i am going to wait until the 3070s are out and see what type of performance they get. Doesnt make sence to spend $1,000+ CAD, if I cant utilize it fully.
  5. I am rather new to these forums. I just posted a comment then decided I wanted to delete it. But can not figure out how. So I edited the comment and replaced the text with this message. Anyways, it it possible to delete a posted comment?
  6. Good to know my PSU should be ok. Because I couldnt get a new one AND a new video card at the same time. In terms of games and settings, I obviously want to play at the highest as possible. At 1440p Ultra settings, Currently I play RedDead 2, Forza Horizon 4, Metro Exodus, will be playing Cyberpunk and GTA 6 and what ever FPS come out in the future. I would love to get a 4k monitor, but as I said money is going to be very tight in the next few years. So I figure getting the highest performing card now, and hope it lasts me longer then a card more suited to 1440p at 60hrz such as the 3070 or 3060 or any crap AMD put out. Maybe it is all a mute point, because I am in Canada, Due to covid, by the time we get a 3080 in stock here, the 3070, 3060, and AMD cards will have been launched. Anyways, I am looking at the ASUS TUF(non OC) 3080/3070.
  7. My current setup is: i5 10600k running all cores at 4.9Ghz EVGA 750 B2 (Supernova?) with an EVGA 1070 SC 2 HDD 1 SSD I game at 1440p with 60Hrz. I want to upgrade the 1070 with either a 3080 or 3070. i realize since i am gaming at 1440p at 60Hrz, the 3080 would be a big overkill whose total performance is not even being used. Thus 3070 makes more sense in theory. However, Money is going to be very tight with me for the next few years, and I really do not want to have to upgrade my PC for as long as possible. First question is: Is my PSU enough to handle a 3080? Second: While the 3080 may be overkill now for gaming at 1440p at 60Hrz, in the long run, as years go by, and games get more demanding, and the fact I want to delay upgrading anything for as long as possible, would hypothetically the 3080 last me significantly longer and keep up with the latest tittles longer then a 3070 would? Or is there really no possible way to know? (And I realize we know nothing about the 3070 right now. And all you AMD fanboys will be quick to pounce on me why I have a 10600k, and tell me to wait for Navi yadadadada)
  8. Ok So I have never bought an Nvidia Founders Edition. This time I am thinking about it...Likely the 3070...a 3080 would be nice, but god only knows what the price will end up here in Canada. Reason for FE is, I can order it direct from Nvidia, as opposed to waiting for AIB makers stock to eventually trickle down to Canadian retailers. And Honestly I just upgraded from 6600k to a 10600k and I REALLY want to have a high end GPU to match it. I currently have an EVGA 1070, and in the most recent games i have been playing it is showing it's age. Red Dead Redemption spicificy, but it was a crappy port anyways...but you all know what I mean. When you get the itch to upgrade... So question is: 1) I never got FE cards because of the blower cooler niose..but Ampere has something new...but from what I can see, the FE card will blow the hot air up too my Noctua NF-u120s heat sinc and increase CPU temps on my already OCed and hot 10600K. What do you guys think about this new cooler design for the FE 2) I honestly am broke (I drive an old Dodge so...) Anyways, I have never sold any of my old PC Hardware, honestly seems like a hassle. But selling my EVGA 1070 SC 'may' be the difference between the 3070 and the 3080 (Wheather FE OR AIBs) So my second question is, how much do you all think an EVGA 1070 SC is worth used? Cheers!
  9. As i said in my initial post, I have been on all the Canadian retailers, the 10600K/KF are nowhere to be found. Newegg has the 10600k for $400 CAD, with tax and shipping amounts to $470 CAD i think (It only ships from the US)...That is too much. CC and ME list the 10600K and KF at $340 and $400 for the latter, but I dont think they have ever been in stock. Which I find curious,,,as the AMD Rizen XT models are in stock at Canadian retailers, and they were just released a few days ago..
  10. DUDE!!! WTF?!?!?!??!?!? Bahahahahahah I almost choked on my drink,...I cant take it, You AMD fanboys are killing me!!! I need a breather!
  11. Man you guys are killing me! I got the same endless DUDE GET AMD on another post I made simply regarding Air coolers....
  12. Oh lord....I knew this "BUY AMD" would come, but not literally 2 minutes after my post... Perhaps it is my style of wriging comments i tend to be verbose... Has the 10600K/KF been released in Canada? Has anyone actually seen them in stock in Canada? Specifically the cheaper KF version? Does anyone have any information when they WILL be in stock at any of the Canadian computer parts retailers? Memory Express, Canada Computers, Mikes, Newegg(But at the Ontario warehouse) Anyone know when they will arrive? I DONT want to hear BUY AMD!!! Thank you!
  13. So I have been planing on upgrading my skylake 6600K to the 10600KF( but would also consider getting just the K version depending on availability,,) The problem is, There seems to be NO availability for either processors anywhere in Canada!) Memory Express, Amazon, Mikes, Canada Computers, are still showing pre-order/Backorder...And I doubt they have ever been in stock in Canada... New Egg has the 10600K but, it ONLYy ships from the US, and I think with taxes and shipping would come to $470 Canadian...Which In my opinion is way too much. They also do not have the cheaper KF variant listed (which is what I want).. I would rather pick up a 10600KF at the local Canada Computers and save about $70+, and put it towards getting a better motherboard. Anyways, just wondering has anyone found a 10600KF model anywhere for sale? Or have they yet to be released. And has anyone in Canada, seen a 10600K or the KF varient in stock anywhere?? I think it is odd...the AMD Rizen XTs literally just came out, and Canada computes has them in stock, yet the intel 10 series, released 2 months ago, specifically 10600K/KF seem to have never made it to Canada... I understand we are in a Pandemic an things are slow, but if AMD can send their latest processors to Canada that fast, whats up with Intel??? ****I know I am going to get replies saying Dude buy the AMD 3600!!!!!!!!! So before anyone says that, I have only built computers with Intel, I would rather stay with something familiar, plus I want the extra gains for gaming, and furthermore, if I WERE to go AMD, I would wait for the 4xxx series to come out...
  14. Yeah, I think that is the best approach, and is what I am going to do. Thanks for all the input!
  15. Cool I will check out rgw Thermalright True Spirit 140 Power as well
