I've noticed that while loading or playing games (especially heavily modded Minecraft) my CPU, GPU and Hard Drive aren't maxed out. For example, in vanilla Minecraft at max render distance I get 5-15fps only using 40-60% CPU and 15-20% GPU and loading LoL is slow (I have an ssd). In other games, like Lichdom Battlemage my GPU gets maxed out. According to CPU-Z, the DRAM Frequency is 333.3MHz, with a ratio of 4:5. I've taken a look at how to change this but I haven't managed to do it correctly. I'd like to overclock a bit my CPU so the FSB ratio is a bit better, and maybe get some extra performance (and maybe my GPU too? I'm not an expert at this, first time OCing). I have a really cheap air cooler because the stock one broke. The CPU temp under load is under 66ºC, so it can't be OCed a lot (Intel says it can't go over 71ºC).
Here are my PC specs:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @Stock
GPU: NVidia GeForce 9600GT @Stock, 512Mb
RAM: 4Gb DDR2 400MHz (2 sticks of 2 gigs, dual channel) One stick is CL6 and the other is CL5 at 400MHZ, CL5 and CL4 at 333MHz
HDD: Samsung 480 EVO 120Gb SSD MoBo: Asus P5K SE I'm planning to get a new PC next year.
