  1. i intend to walk-in and check the prices but due to covid-19 , i cant leave my house. So im getting my prices from Amazon and Newegg.
  2. It will be exactly a year from now thats why i was thinking of getting a 1k budget first. but yeah, i agree with you if is a few months. Regarding the parts, thanks for the input ill look at more opinions before making a final verdict.
  3. Budget (including currency): $1500SGD Country: Singapore Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Ow for now, will be dealing with AAA games in the future. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hello, so i was thinking of building a PC with a budget for 1.5kSGD few months back. ( List shown below ) Finally finding what i want, the virus came. Soaring prices deterred me from buying any parts and i read that is better to buy parts together compared to buying them separately so i waited. In the meantime, i continue to do my research on each and every part. When i was discussing with my friends, i realize next year around may, i would be enlisted into the army for 2 years. To give some context, i currently have a gaming laptop, not really great but manageable, playing games like overwatch and Stronghold. As of now one of the hinges broke off and my laptop screen is slightly tilted. I also bought a gaming monitor monitor 2 weeks ago ( Which haven't arrive ) since currently im doing programming so having dual screen and gaming on a 30inch curve monitor would benefit me. BUT, my DUMBASS didn't do enough research, i thought "oh buying monitor is easy, get a monitor, get a hdmi and we are good to go " but nooo. apparently, my laptop is nvidia GTX 1050 mobile while my monitor has a AMD Freesync. Not only that, my laptop is pumping out 50fps at least and 100 at most. i read that as of now Nvidia and AMD can sync up but i'm not sure. Back to my story, my friends suggested that i should build a PC now since they have no confidence in my laptop surviving one more year but then again, getting enlisted in the army for 2 years is a really long time especially when a plethora of new techs that will come out within this 2 years. During this 2 years, i will be forced to stay in for 3months but the remaining duration is unknown. i could be getting a 8 to 5 job in the army or stay in camp or both. I was thinking of build a $1000SGD PC first, so after my enlistment, i can upgrade it to a high end PC. Something along the lines of this build PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor $299.55 @ Newegg Singapore Motherboard MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard Memory Team T-Force Delta RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory $145.27 @ Newegg Singapore Storage Crucial P1 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Video Card Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6 GB OC Video Card $414.14 @ Newegg Singapore Case Corsair SPEC-06 ATX Mid Tower Case $243.91 @ Newegg Singapore Power Supply Corsair CXM 650 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $1102.87 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-05-08 11:58 +08+0800 So should i build a PC now or sell my monitor if it doesn't work and build after my enlistment end? If i should build my PC now, i have a list below but i'm hesitant in getting the storage, GPU and PSU. PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor $299.55 @ Newegg Singapore Motherboard MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard Memory Team T-Force Delta RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory $159.11 @ Newegg Singapore Storage Crucial P1 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Storage Seagate BarraCuda 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $98.79 @ Newegg Singapore Video Card PowerColor Radeon RX 5700 8 GB Red Devil Video Card Case Corsair SPEC-06 ATX Mid Tower Case $243.91 @ Newegg Singapore Power Supply EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Case Fan Noctua NF-F12 PWM 54.97 CFM 120 mm Fan Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $801.36 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-05-08 11:58 +08+0800 Even though the storage is cheap, i have heard that seagate's HDD doesnt last. For GPU, i intend to get either a RX5600xt / RX5700 / RX5700xt but i have researched and that their driver are wonky and unreliable. I might be playing AAA games in the future so Which RX should i get? If not, which RTX should i get? i just don't know how corsair PSU works man. all the alphabets in corsair's psu gives me headache. i just know i should get a 650w? with 80+ bronze. Maybe getting other brand's PSU as well.
