I want to transform my desktop station with a rtx4090 to a serverlike box in the basement and use moonlight on a laptop to game at work or home(plugged on my main monitor and not having 800watts of heat dumped into my room) or elsewhere making it a versatile setup. Right now Im doing some test with a 9900K and it looks like it struggle to decode 1080p120 at 50mbps so im thinking getting one of the last gen card mobile to have the latest decode engine. Whats people experience with it ? Are some of you using geforce now and gaming 120fps buttersmooth ? everything is always gonna be on LAN to minimise latency of course I'm not that knowledgeable in mobile and encode decode side of gpu , so any info is good info. Alright, it was for cost saving mesure but yea, maybe its too much trouble, ill just put a second user and alternate in the meanwhile

yea, did all that, i just did a gpu reseat, ill check if its gonna do it again

i know drivers are new so its gonna probably be fixed later, but reading that some of the 30 serie still have this problem might be more end user ?

I went from 3090 to 4090, never had problem with my 3090 strix, this thing was sooo stable Now with only a gpu swap with the 4090 strix , Im having weird display lost when browsing reddit or the web in general, perfectly stable in gaming. I did some research and it seems to be <<commun>> on nvidia cards on older series too Is there anyone with similar problem with an nvidia card and if they found a fix ? I did a full win11 re install to 21h2 cause i was suspecting the 22h2 the be broken but didnt fix it. Im running a PG32UQX at the full 4k 144hz HDR, downclocking to 120hz or 96hz doesnt fix it. spec: 12700k z690 pro a D4 32gb ram

maybe i could just force decode on the cpu and feed it to a 1050 with dp1.4 support to get g sync . ill have to check

Im trying to setup a server pc that a can stream from anywhere with my gigabit feed and moonlight streaming. The only bump im scratching my head is the gpu on the remote location that would have dp1.4 with a good decode speed so there wont be to much latency. While of course i could get mid range gpu just for decoding my remote 3090, what would be the lowest i could get ? People seems to say a 1050ti show struggle at 4k60 on YouTube. Would a quadro be more fit for this ? (Low end) I would go with an alderlake cpu since it support dp1.4 but id want to keep g sync support. Also moonlight cap at 150mbps and early test in cp2077 shows 100mbps transfert at 4k around 100fps with my second system with only a 9900k stuck on dp1.2 but with a great 1ms decode speed

well idk if this one specifictly , but id be very happy to know a dock model that can carry the full dp 1.4 signal with some usbs on it. this link seems to be dp 1.2 only

im trying to do the same setup at home but i cant seem to find a full dp1.4 dock that carry 4k 120hz hdr. any clue what he's using ? so i could run my pc in an other room with only the dock in my gaming room ?

I cant find the linus video where he setup his desk from a server in an other room, i remember he was using a dock that can passtrough video, audio and usb over 1 cable, can anyone refer me to the video or the device he s using ? im thinking of doing something similar

i have a xonar essence stx and might go surround, card only have stereo out but does have spdif so it shoud carry the 5.1 signal over to the surround unit. will i be able to EQ the spdif signal or is it just a by pass and cant change anything ?. p.s; all EQ i tried with on board audio sound garbage and i rlly would wanna keep the quality of the xonar
