  1. Thanks. Is it also XMP on AMD? I thought that it was the Intel name for that. And do you have any idea about that performance thing?
  2. Hi everyone, finally assembled my handbrake station (R5 3600x, gt730 just for video output, single stick hyperx 3000 cl15 16gb, asus tur b550 plus). Wanted to know how to set memory to the right freq&cl (changed auto to 3000, but all timings went down, the one named CL is 22). Also there is Asus performance enhancement. What does it do? What settings should I change? Cooling solution is a Zalman CNPS9X.
  3. Thanks a lot, I think I will go with the ASUS. If I am not mistaken, local VRM tier suggests that it can handle more power. And it has a nice USB C which I might need one day.
  4. B450 Aorus Pro for 120USD Also I found several boards in range of 155-165 USD: X570 Pro4 B550 Aorus Elite TUF Gaming B550 And 170 USD MAG B550M Mortar Which one would you recommend? There are also some 140 ish MSI Gaming MAX X470 Thanks in advance!
  5. Am I right that only B550 & X570 are 100% working with 3rd gen Ryzen out of the box and B450 might need a BIOS update? There is a B550M Pro4 for 120USD. Also, what is the difference between b450, b550 and x570?
  6. No, there is a huge list of them, just some of them so it is possible to estimate prices. Is 3600X better than 3600? Or a slight overclock on 3600 will make it the same?
  7. This PC will be used for throwing together 1080p 60fps video and sound from an external mic. Everyday about 6 hours of videos. Up to now I thought about AMD only. I have my own 1Tb SSD (SATA3, but it is perfectly OK), old GPU (I think it is a GT710), 1Tb HDD, PSU and case. For memory I was going to buy 16Gb of 3200 CL16 Patriot (65 USD). CPUs: R5 3600X 195 USD R5 3600 175 USD R5 3500X 160 USD R7 2700 140 USD R3 3300X 125 USD For the motherboard I don't know what to choose, something for price expectations (since I don't live in the USA): GigaByte X570 Gaming X 160 USD ASRock B550M Steel Legend 155 USD ASRock B450 STEEL LEGEND 100 USD What should I get? I have about 370 USD. Later I might buy a GPU for some esports titles.
  8. Yes, that is exactly what I want. Thank you!
  9. Yes, I am looking to run it on a dedicated machine. I was thinking to get something used, may be some kind of Dell/Acer/Lenovo office PC. I would say my budget is about 300-350 USD. The less it will cost, the better.
  10. Yes, the more I think of the Chinese Big Brother watching me, the more I think to use Blue Iris. Could you please recommend a CPU for the Blue Iris? On their website they have a min. of Pentium and recommended of an i7, but nothing specific. Would an i3 6th-7th gen be okay for 3 cameras or I should get something more powerful?
  11. That is what I found on their version 5 overview. I can get 2 Blue Iris and use their own Remote Management and watch cameras, but I think that Team Viewer will be as good if not better.
  12. Finally, I have some time to tell the story. Again, thanks a lot for all of your advice. Since I live in Russia, the easiest way to get a Reolink camera was to order it from Aliexpress, but shipping would take some time (about 2 weeks) and I left on the 10th of July. So on the 8th of July I went to a local security camera shop and the guy there sold me Imou Ranger 2 (I bought only 2 and thought to order some Reolink later, they are almost half the price). Apparently, Imou is a Dahua sub-company and Dahua cameras are quite popular and good enough. It has ONVIF support, but I was too lazy so I just used their own app (1-month free trial, 2USD/months later). Here comes the problematic part. As I understood, I will have to get 2 Blue Iris licenses to be able to use remote access. Or I could use TeamViewer, etc. and have email notifications. Something similar is with iSpy/Agent DVR, but there I would have to pay a subscription fee. The problem is (as always) the price. Imou asks 20 USD if I want an annual subscription with 3 days cloud storage and Blue Iris is a bit over 83 USD (because I have to pay 20% taxes). So now I am thinking about what to use because on one hand, I don't trust Chinese servers, but on the other Blue Iris costs more (4 or 8 years (1 or 2 Blue Iris 5) for Imou to become as expensive as Blue Iris) and I would need a PC (currently I have a laptop, which I move back and forth with me) for it. I will dig for more information and write if I find something interesting.
  13. Yes, it helped, thank you very much!
  14. I was thinking to get 3 cameras (2 for 2 bedrooms and 1 in front of the entrance door inside). It is a flat, so indoor use only. 24 hours of storage is enough, important is that it should be able to save any movement moment (like a 30-60 sec video) somewhere else (cloud/my NAS) for long term use (so if someone breaks in it saves it for more than 24 hours).
