  1. Alrighty, hi forumers. Just a quick update, pc is fixed!!!! Hooray.. To sum it up here's a more detailed explanation of what happened and how i manage to solve it. If any one get's a problem in the future like how i did. Took me 4 days by the way. Would help solve the problem.. 1st things 1st. How it happened? I upgraded my Systems. Old CPU -> i7 870 / New CPU - i5-9600k Old Mobo -> Gigabyte P55A-UDR3 / New Mobo -> AsRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 4 Old Cooler -> Intel Stock cooler / New Cooler -> H115i RGB Pro Old Ram -> Crucial DDR3 1600 1x8gb / New Ram -> G.Skill Ripjaws V 2x8gb DDR4 2133 CL15 Old GPU -> Asus GTX 950 OC-2GD5 / New GPU -> Gigabyte GTX 1660 Super Retained PSU -> Gigabyte GE-P610A-C2 610w Retained SSD - > Kingston SSDnow V 120gb Retained HDD -> Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500gb So basically after i installed everything on and removed all the old ones, i booted my PC. Excited like a child going to Disney world for the first time. BOOOM. *Disaster strikes* PC Stuck at windows logo (Frozen after 2 spins) *so first thing i did. Scratch my head.* YES I CAN BOOT INTO BIOS.. BUT I HAD NO IDEA WHAT TO DO IN THERE. I thought to myself it happened before. Hours of online video watching led me to think due to having new devices it must be one of them. So 1st step, remove all USB devices. Turned on again and same.. Stuck at windows logo. Ok 2nd scratch head.. So i removed all Sata Drives leaving my OS Boot Drive which was the Kingston SDD. Disappointment.. Same outcome... Fustrated. I thought i must have build something in wrong to not get the windows to load. *Also thought my SSD was gone..* Next step. Tore my PC apart.. Removed everything single damn thing and rebuild again. 1st Try -> PSU + MOBO + 2 RAM + COOLER + SSD + MONITOR + Keyboard Same outcome.. Froze on windows loading. 2nd Try -> PSU + MOBO + 1 RAM + COOLER + SSD + MONITOR + Keyboard Again same outcome.. Froze on windows loading, 3rd Try -> PSU + MOBO + Change to other RAM + COOLER + SSD + MONITOR + Keyboard Annnndd again same outcome.. Froze on windows loading. And if you are wondering for every step i tried. I went into Bios to make sure 1st Boot was my SSD. 2nd was to make sure my drive was read as SSD. 3rd was to make sure secure boot was turned OFF. 4th Made sure CSM was on Legacy as i checked my SSD does not have EUFI.. Also if you reboot your PC too many times it goes into recovery mode. Yeap that too froze after 2 loads. So in general *I COULD NEVER GET PAST THE WINDOWS LOGO!!* So back to the drawing board.. More googling, more youtube tech videos and even called all the IT experts i know. Best recommendation out of everyone, forum or videos i watch..... Fresh Install... Well that wouldn't be so bad.. Ok so back to my PC after i made a bootable usb. Downloaded from windows creation tool. 4th Try -> PSU + MOBO + 1 RAM + COOLER + USB + MONITOR + Keyboard Set to EUFI and 1st boot USB on BIOS.. BOOM.. FAILURE... So basically it can detect the USB as EUFI something Partition. But once i save and exit and it went to the Manufacturer splash screen. Froze after 1 load cycle. Even more pissed now. Turned off the pc and tried again. Same outcome... *FACEPALM!* I though hmm.. Maybe i did not fix my USB to be bootable or something like that. So went to reformat my USB to Fat32. Re-downloaded windows using media creation tool. Plugged it in and did a 5th Try. NOOOOOOOOOO PROGRESSSSSS.. You can't imagine how pissed i was... Ok so back to google and tried to find other solutions, and something i remember suddenly. My MOBO is new. So went to check out what was the Version and current version. AND GUESS WHAT... I FOUND THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Basically my MOBO was on version P1.10. As i read through the CPU compatibility there was no error. And at 1st i was hesitant as Flashing your Bios to certain updates does not allow you to roll back if anything happened which kinda is scary. So i saw an update version P1.30 which did not state that it can't be roll back to previous version and i downloaded the Flash Image and it updated my MOBO. MY MOBO WAS PURELY OUTDATED AND IT DID NOT ALLOW ANY PROGRESS OF BOOTING THE OS!!! So fingers crossed i re-did the very first try again. 1st Try -> PSU + MOBO + 2 RAM + COOLER + SSD + MONITOR + Keyboard BOOOOOOM * Brought me straight to windows log in.. OMG THE HAPPINESS IN MY FACE WAS LIKE I WON A MILLION DOLLARS HAHAHAHA .. !!!! And so i rebuild every... single... thing.. back.. into.. the... case and am now writing this to tell you of my JOY today. I hope future PC builders read this and find this thread Useful. Have a good night and happy gaming
  2. Thanks for e quick reply. I did check AsRock Cpu compatibility. Currently Mind is above version but does not boot pass Manufacturer Splash screen. This i also saw so i am thinking maybe i have to update mobo to P4.00?? They also have a scary warning that i wont be able to go back to previos BIOS So should i proceed to instant flash bios to version P4.00? I might try resitting the CPU again later when i get home. At worked and stressed to find a solution.
  3. Hello, browsed through the forum and have not found an answer relating to my dilema. Some similar but there was no solution. Link Below ; https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1165236-asrock-z390-phantom-gaming-4-problems/?tab=comments#comment-13375998 https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1138610-asrock-z390-phantom-gaming-4-and-i5-9600k-freezing/?tab=comments#comment-13161638 So my new build specs are below ; MOBO - AsRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 4 (vP1.10) (brand new) CPU - i5-9600k (brand new) Cooler - H115i Pro RGB (brand new) Memory - G.Skill Ripjaws DDR4-2400 PC4-19200 2x8gb (brand new) GPU - Gigabyte GTX 1660 Super (from old pc) PSU - Gigabyte 610w GE-P610A-C2 (from old pc) SDD - Kingston ssdVnow 120gb (from old pc) HDD - Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500gb (from old pc) Problem 1 : Pc boots with everything in. Goes to window logo and get stuck(freezes) - 1st boot priority SSD. Automatic repair screen pops up - loads 2 spins and freezes. *Tried fixing - remove all usb and other drives connected. Same outcome. (Mobo + Ram + PSU + CPU + Cooler + SSD) Problem 2 : Pc boots with everything in except SSd. Goes to window logo and get stuck(freezes) - 1st boot priority HDD (Also with OS installed) Automatic repair screen pops up - loads 2 spins and freezes. *Tried fixing - remove all usb and other drives connected. Same outcome.(Mobo + Ram + PSU + CPU + Cooler + HDD) Problem 3 : Removed everything from PC except MOBO + PSU + CPU + COOLER + RAM and used a usb stick plugged in the back usb slot to fresh install windows 10 downloaded via windows creation tool from their website and saved to usb stick. Changed Bios setting to EUFI and booted. Pc goes to manufacturer logo screen trying to boot USB. Freezes after 2 spins. I tried all the Ram solutions as well, remove 1 by 1 and see if it was the cause. No progress. Same stuck screen even with 1 or both or ram in place. Cant boot without ram =X. I dont have a different ram. need to buy but i hope i dont have to. wasted alot of money already. I don't understand. I can boot the Pc. Everything Runs, spins, lights. I can enter BIOS. I see everything connected. Fans, Ram, Cpu, everything. But when i try to Boot the OS either from SDD,HDD or do a fresh install of windows from USB. It always freezes at window logo or manufacturer splash screen. Not sure if Mobo needs update? i tried internet flash update. No updates pop up. I even tried secure boot on the usb stick. disable csm. I manage to get to the windows install page ONCE! but it froze and when i tried to boot again it never got past the splash screen. 3 days of troubleshooting. Cant really figure out. Any one with the knowledge to guide me????? Please just to get past the splash screen. To see my windows log in page... Would be very very much appreciated.
