  1. I believe it's perfectly fine that Google is taking a more conservative approach to business, after all that is what supposed to happen when a company grows into a global giant. They have more to lose + it's easier to make money once you have a tone + they don't need to take risk (only maintain the domination). I don't think there are any substantial problems here.
  2. do you really think the savings will be substantial for such a big company?
  3. As a OnePlus owner, I would like them to go a different direction. Why not become a completely independent company, I mean they already have a dedicated fan base in the US and EU...
  4. I see a lot of people excited that this might impact the entire smartphone market, but I don't think it will. Yes, it would be a logical thing to do: if you develop an update for Germany, you might as well release it worldwide, BUT companies don't make decisions based on logic, they make decisions based on $$$. AND their sales would suffer from longer lifecycle of their devices worldwide. Sooo, I think they will comply in Germany, and that's it.
  5. Fun fact number 2: $268 million USD is only 1.49% of Alphabet's net profit in the first quarter of 2021. Imagine paying a fine which is 1.49% of your quarterly salary, not that bad.
  6. downdetector , personal print screen
  7. modern apocalypse reddit is still working like a turtle though
  8. I was sure that they have password manager like nordvpn and nordpass or tunnelbear and remembear.
  9. i guess i should put my glasses on... dang. sorry for misinformation
  10. in cybernews article they have offered to check with their own checker! but still waiting for haveibeenpwned to double check
  11. I'm coming to the conclusion that keeping your passwords somewhere in your notebook that is hidden in your drawer and changing them every week is the most secure way . I imagine next time posting news about LastPass, Windscribe or any other password managers breach and it seems really f****d up. For now I use password manager, but I think it's time to come back to the old school method
  12. Summary it seems to be the largest breach. 8,459,060,239 unique entries were leaked (date base that has been stored for 12 years) 100GB TXT file was shared on one forum. Quotes My thoughts This is so far the largest breach in history! Nearly all online population is affected. So we all need to check haveibeenpwned (when it will be updated) . 13. Ironically, my graphics card might be my biggest bottleneck in my current rig. I only have an Nvidia 1050Ti, hopefully it will be enough for medium or even low. I'm not expecting too much, Doom Eternal runs pretty well on my rig and looks fine so I'm quite hopeful.
