  1. right on man! got it. Ready for my new SSD to come in the mail so I can install it.
  2. So the USB is all ready to go. So, simply swap out the hard drives, and leave the USB plugged in..? I bet that it'll prompt me at start-up the option to boot/install windows from the flash drive?
  3. Were would one find Windows? without a disk, as I don't have a disk drive installed right now..
  4. I have a 1tb HDD right now in my OptiPlex. I just bought a new SSD(120gb). I want to use the new SSD as a boot drive for quicker load times, I also bought a USB to SATA cable to help me do this. I googled how big "windows" is, and got a 20gb total answer. Is this true?. Can I just plug in the new SSD, and copy all the files over from the old HDD, then swap the hard drives( I want to just us the SSD).
  5. Swaping the mother board, and CPU wont require a new product key will it?
  6. I just bought CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800). And I want to upgrade the motherboard. Is DDR3 really that much slower than DDR4?
  7. I just want to buy one 2.5" 1tb SSD, and call it a day. I don't need too much storage. And want to do away with the HDD all together. And I just watched Linus TT about comparing on board vs not, and I don't think I'd benefit from a on board on..
  8. but. I want to get the most out of this MSI Radeon RX 570 I also just bought.. its gddr5
  9. idk. just depends if I can reuse this brand new ram I just bought, but its only DDR3.
  10. I've owned a AMD 4 core once (couldn't tell you what it was exactly) just that it was a few years back, and was up to date technology wise. and it was amazing. This i5-2400 (4 core) that I'm currently using is pretty disappointing, but was just the $300 "gaming computer" buy on eBay. I'm stuck with it now, and working with it..
  11. Just did a case swap. is the "on board" SSD's worth the money?
  12. I really need to up-grade to a SSD, its about time I step into the new way of storing information. I've watched a couple of YouTube videos on cloning the existing hard drive when up grading to an SSD. But My question is what do I need to watch out for in buying a new SSD? I have a dell OptiPlex 990 MT motherboard, with a i5-2400 CPU if that helps figure this all out. But the "curve ball" is after the SSD swap, I'm going to be upgrading my motherboard and CPU here soon. and probably upgrade from GDRR3 to GDRR4 ram. but first things first, I need a quicker hard drive. Any input would be appreciated at this point.
  13. So like the title says, Im using a Seiki SC-32HS880N 32 inch 720p HD LED TV as my monitor. I was catching myself neglecting the thought of a nice monitor, but with my recent purchase of a gpu, I'm starting to think what am I missing out on. refresh rates? 4k? tv or monitor? want to somewhat stay with around 32"s of screen. and also, I have three display ports, 1 x DL-DVI-D, and a hdmi port btw. can I just buy a new 4k tv and it work good enough?
