    my current peripherals are pretty good and i dont need new ones, can i get a 3800x with the extra 80 dollars? and windows will make it a bit over my budget but thats fine

    m.2 ssd, most games dont actually benefit much from more than 8 gb so i would go with the m.2

    it reccomends 600w but it probably doesnt draw 600w unless its under load, a 500watt should at least allow a post.

    you probably shouldnt modify cables, you should just have waited until you were able to get a better psu, your gpu is probably fine, that cable is not, just wait until you can get a better psu and stay with your old gpu for now.

    can someone make me a pcpartpicker? i really need a new pc, my old specs are 10 year old garbage. Id kinda prefer a nvidia gpu rather than an amd gpu, i know the 5700xt or 5700 is a good deal but i want ray tracing. Also if you are curious, my old specs were: AMD Athlon ii x4 630 2.8ghz, 4gb ddr2 800mhz, gtx 570, and windows 7 home premium.
