  1. I also looked for unraid vs truenas and it seems like unraid is better suited for this "home use case". TrueNas seems better for enterprise.
  2. Sounds good. I did switch out the PSU as you said and also the mainboard due to the fact that the ASRock B760M PRO RS/D4 MATX Intel DDR4 So.1700 retail offers more for a lower price and also does not have WiFi (which I don't even need).
  3. Hey there, just wondering if you people would have any suggestions toward my build I put together for our first home media server, which will also be our NAS / Filestorage and Playground for programmed applications. (Docker) I did not pick any old ebay parts or whatnot and preferred to just go current gen. It seems like Intel is preferred here for home media server, especially plex according to their documentation at least. Build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kgXjwc Total price: $675, excluding the case which I already own. Greetings from Germany
  4. Hey there, I'm currently deciding if I want to get the LG C1 (OLED65C17LB) or the Samsung Neo QLED QN90A (GQ65QN90AATXZG). I don't use sound at all as I have external speakers, I don't care about any features that I can think of really, I just want the best image quality I can get for this price. But now the question is: What is the best picture quality for my situation? I'm mostly using the TV in a dimmed room to watch movies or to play some games, around 2 hours a day. Now most people would tend to the OLED because of the low light situation, but is the worse color accuracy and missing HDR10+ support worth the trade-off for the good black color? (I'm a complete noob here, so this sentence might not have made any sense.) All help appreciated!
  5. Hey there, I'm currently searching for a new laptop. My use case is mainly software development and a bit of gaming (I do have a gaming pc, so nothing excessive.) My other requirements are: Good trackpad/keyboard, lightweight, long battery life, preferably a 120/144hz display, not because of gaming but out of me being used to it so much that I think I won't survive without it. My Budget is <2300€. Any help would be appreciated! Greetings
  6. Additional information: dxgkrnl.sys cannot be loaded according to the windows bootlog. sfc /Scannow causes an system restart (direct Crash no BSOD or so)
  7. No it doesn’t I was just replying to the other guy who asked if it’s booting to the right one
  8. So no I tried different drives and it’s still crashing I also tried unplugging everything. Also It does boot to the right drive
  9. Hey, so I’m trying to explain my problem as best as I can: Randomly while programming my pc just shut down (no blue screen etc.). On reboot it wasn’t possible to get into Windows anymore. It does post and the windows loading screen does appear but after that the pc just reboots. It is also not possible to get into any other OS like Ubuntu either. The rescue mode of windows works though. Rescue mode being the mode where the command prompt or startup repair etc. are selectable. Because it not being able to boot into an OS I think it can only be the following options sorted on likelihood but please tell me what you think: 1. GPU (although it still does output an image) 2. Main board 3. PSU 4. Other? I already tried Reseting the UEFI, Using Ubuntu and other OS and Switching the RAM.
  10. Hey, I wondered if it's okay for the CPU cooler to bend the RAM just sligthly?! Unfortunately I cannot lift the cooler any more up to avoid this, only other possibility would be to make it PULL the air from the other side, but I imagine that wouldn't be as effective.
  11. The monitor is decent. Although I'm not a fan of the black levels of it, but that was to be expected.
  12. Yup, went for it. I'll update this post / create a new one with my experience with that monitor! Thank you guys for linking it.
  13. @Gaires So after looking on LTT and some time on the internet, it seems like https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/27gl850-b is the best option here. I'm only a bit worried about the IPS glow and backlight bleeding, as it apparently depends on the very unit I get, but I imagine that is with every IPS monitor.
  14. @Gaires Thank you. Although I need to admit that I could also live without HDR. I only mentioned that because it adds to the quality aspect I mentioned. 27inch, 144hz, 1440p, good color accuracy (thus IPS) are the key features.
