  1. great way to break the rules of camping.
  2. ssds are great - so much better performance and reliability than harddrives - no moving parts and what not. also, my 10 yr old 200gb 5400rpm drive recently decided to go belly-up. so, would be nice to have something to install an operating system on again.
  3. That's precisely what I'm going to do. Strap a closed loop all-in-one unit on that baby and overclock.
  4. I found the problem guys my overclock (which ran as stable on EVGA OC Scanner) was the problem. It seems that the card was automatically downclocked to prevent damage. I removed the overclock in EVGA PrecisionX and restarted and BOOM, back to 1443Mhz max on Hardware Monitor and a new Fire Strike score. woopeeeeee~~ http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/10650947 imma go back and give everyone a thumbs up! cheers!
  5. I was looking around and I think there's something else that's wrong... Here's my results: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/10649431 Here are someone else's results with a similar cpu and gpu set up... http://www.3dmark.com/fs/5177964 this makes me sad
  6. silly me, in that case - no. It's the regular Fire Strike.
  7. would that be significantly better than the old lga1155 processors? I'm looking for an adequate price-to-performance here and a used 2600k seems like a good deal to me. is the 4690k that much better?
  8. On the contrary - i'm SURE it's extreme. Extremely abysmal.
  9. Thought so, I'm thinking of getting a used 2600k. Do you think that's good enough?
  10. I believe I have a system bottleneck, which I suspect is due to my cpu, but I'm not sure. I looked up benchmarks for the GTX 980 and it should not be this low. Fire Strike 1.1 Score: 5374 Graphics Score: 6314 Physics Score: 5673 Combined Score: 2448 My questions: Where is my bottleneck? And what should I upgrade it to? note: system to be used for gaming and desktop applications - zero to minimal workstation use. System Specs: Gigabyte H77M-D3H (mobo) CM 550w GXII (psu) i5-2400 @3.10 Ghz GTX 980 8GB ddr3 @1333 Mhz
  11. Wireless RS 185 Sennheiser headphones for my dad. He enjoys late night TV but is afraid to crank up the volume in his bedroom. I'll get one for him regardless. If he gets these for free, I'll get him a food vacuum sealer as well~ man loves to cook. http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-RS-185-Wireless-Headphone/dp/B00TOT9G1W/ref=sr_1_fkmr2_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1449982089&sr=8-1-fkmr2&keywords=wireless+headphones+over+ear+rf+rs+165
  12. the htc one (m7) proved that function and fashion could be combined and the m8 looks better and for sure is stronger... im getting one regardless of the results of this draw.
