  1. Nail polish seems to have worked keep fingers crossed thank you!!!!!!!!
  2. Well I’ve tested multiple screens and tested those same screens on working motherboards and it’s always the same result. Broken motherboard overheats while working motherboard does not and this applies to all screens I’ve tested so I really really doubt it’s the lcd perhaps you are right about the broken component but I’m looking for someone to tell me what component could be broken lol
  3. Hopefully you can tell but the green circled connector is to the LCD screen
  4. Yeah it might be a component of the lcd that is being fed to much current and causing it to overheat but it’s definitely the motherboard that is causing this as the same exact thing happens with multiple LCD screen replacements. Ive even tested Screen with another motherboard and it does not overheat then only with this motherboard. here is a more zoomed out picture. And don’t mind everything that is disconnected as I did connect everything back when I tested so don’t bother asking me if I made sure lol
  5. it overheats only when the lcd screen is on regardless if charging or not, when it’s in docked mode it does not overheat however. No other damage as I’ve looked all over and I’m very detail oriented and know when I mess up 99% of the time. but the only thing that is located under the area that gets hot is the console memory but have turned it on to see if that was overheating and it wasn’t. It’s definitely the LCD screen I’m guessing that somehow to much current is being fed into the LCD and causing it to overheat in that area. im also guessing that the scratched conductors were somehow involved in regulating the amount of current that goes into the lcd screen and now i severed the connection which is causing these problems????? my battery drains really fast is also evident of this.
  6. Well like I said I see conductors exposed so I don’t see it improbable that I severed the connection and now I have these problems. This isn’t a computer motherboard which is far more durable.
  7. The front screen gets really hot near the right joy con rail.
  8. The thermals arnt really a problem from my testing. I have turned it on without it and still the same problem. have had that setup for a while since it’s supposedly cool your stuff better and never had a problem then. literly as soon as this scratch happened my switch was acting up so unless I missed something it has to be this.
  9. It doesn’t really make a difference, and have been running with this setup for a year now. If you just put thermal pad however it will get stuck on heat pipe so I added thermal paste too. Soc temps are normal in this set up.
  10. Yeah I switched out every including sd card/game card slot battery and front housing (I buy a punch or repair switch’s from eBay) but no luck, the problem is definitely with the main board itself and everything looks fine except for this. i also can check cpu temp and that runs completely fine. and no that is speaker fan and it’s usually connected I just disconnected to get better pic
  11. Perhaps you are right but idk what else it could be and I just want to assume that this is the problem so I can fix it and see if that changes anything. Plus you probably can’t tell from the picture but there does seem to be a conductor exposed in part of the scratch.
  12. Scratched my motherboard while doing a repair and now screen overheats and turns off after a couple minutes. I know this is the culprit tho since I already switched out the screen and still same issue. Is there any way to fix this?
