  1. I have an Acer XC-605 I'm trying to install Android TV on and for some reason which I cannot for some reason figure out, it keeps restarting. It currently has Windows 10 installed and runs fine, however when I try to install Android TV (modified version of Android x-86 I think) it boots to the screen with the options to run it live, install, etc. however no matter what option I select pertaining to Android x-86, it restarts and boots back into Windows rather than running the install wizard for the OS so I can select hard drives, partitions etc. so that I can install. I don't know if it's specifically for Android x-86 or other OS's so I'm going to try installing Ubuntu tomorrow, however I suspect the same thing will happen.

How old is the laptop? I have an old computer somewhere that only detects flash drives formatted to FAT. That means I can only use an older flash drive for it to work.

The laptop is from 2014. It's an HP Pavilion x360 11n-038ca. I found a solution though. I modified the following tutorial a bit and was able to install Chrome OS on the laptop.

Basically I put Linux Mint on the 4GB drive that works and then I put the Chrome OS files on the 16GB drive and installed by opening the ChromeOS directory I created on the 16GB drive in Terminal. I have perfectly working Chrome OS now except for Bluetooth support. Thought I'd share how I did it.

  3. I've been trying with a bunch of different OS's but for some reason, the laptop I'm trying to install the OS on won't detect my 16GB USB 3.0 drive. If I use my 4GB USB 2.0 drive it detects it easily however, OS's like Windows and Cloudready require an 8GB or larger drive. I've tried disabling secure boot and using legacy to no avail. I don't know if it's because the drive is USB 3.0 because 3.0 is supposed to be backwards compatible but at the moment only the 4GB wants to work :(
