You lost the lottery. See about getting tighter timings if you can on your memory.

Yeah the B550 Aorus Pro is a solid choice. Its VRMs should handle even a 3950X no problem and the memory topology on it, if I'm not mistaken, is the same as on the Aorus Master, and feature wise it's got pretty much everything you'd need.
Look for some 3600MHz CL16 memory ideally, to get the most out of your chip. If you can't find any kits or if they're too expensive, CL17 or CL18 should also do.
No problem mate, have a good one!

If moving to Ryzen now doesn't mean that you'll be skimping on the motherboard, then I'd say it'd be a solid choice. And I mean, the 3300X can keep up with the 5700XT in most games no problem, at the moment.

Keep in mind that your DDR3 memory won't work with any current-gen platform, so you'll need some new RAM too.

Wouldn't be a terrible idea. If you get a solid B550 board you won't need to upgrade it, and at most I'd imagine you would lose $50 on the resale of the 3300x.  Just make sure you don't buy it for much more than its $120 MSRP

Spec comparison makes little sense, better watch reviews. Specs don't tell you if the colors are good or the backlight bleeds (unless you get into factory calibrated models obviously, but that's another target use and budget).

You really don't have a whole lot of options to go for. There's a nice LG a little over your budget, but it only has FreeSync.
Is it beyond your ability to import something? Even with the tax and duty you might end up getting a better monitor for less. Though returns would be trickier.
If you're particularly picky with your monitors, I'd probably shell out money for something more expensive. As with most things in life, you get what you pay for.
Both of these have absolutely horrible colors. I'm honestly surprised Dell still sells them.

In my Opinion, now in 2020, there is only 1 single reason to buy a 1080p Monitor:

    You can't afford a 1440p Monitor.
And anyone, who can afford a 400~ish Graphic Card, can afford 1440p.

Don't forget, a GPU only lasts for 3-4 years mostly. Maybe 5 years. Then it starts getting slow/outdated, and an upgrade is due.
A Monitor can last for 5-10 years and won't "get old". Unless it breaks.
And a Monitor benefits you even outside of Gaming. Beeing productive, webbrowsing, etc. A GPU only benefits you during Gaming, nowhere else.
--> The Monitor gives you a higher usage per Day, AND a longer usage in total. So, there is literaly no reason, why a GPU should be more expensive than a Monitor ^^

And while your Monitor exists, you will probably upgrade your GPU at least 1-2 more times.

Yes, there is a benefit in 1080p. Higher fps at same settings, for pure performance / e-sports cases.
But i think, 1440p is the much better sweet spot. You can get the same fps by just lowering the Graphic settings a little (and in many cases, it won't even look worse, thanks to the higher sharper resolution).

    There's a good argument for either 1080p/144 or 1440p/144 paired with a 5700xt.

If your cpu is fast enough, the 5700xt can run most games at 144hz at 1080p.

At 1440p, it becomes more difficult as in some newer games, the 5700xt won't be able to easily push 100+ fps. That said, any CPU weaknesses won't be as obvious because the GPU is also being maxed out.

But regardless, a 144hz display is still useful for those games that do.

One thing to consider is that even with post processing features like image sharpening, running a native 1440p display at 1080p can look a bit odd.

So imo, 1080p/144 only with a fast cpu, or 1440p/144 are both reasonable.

Edit: also depends on the games you play. In some games, like MMOs, when low FPS matters (raids, massive pvp), your GPU isn't what's holding you back, its your CPU.

Back then, i moved from 1080p to 1440p 144 Hz G-Sync, when i had my GTX 1060 (similar to RX 580 performance), and i replaced my 1060 with a 1080 (almost RX 5700 performance).
So i can say something about those differences.
Right now, my old  24" 1080p Monitor is my secondary screen. The 24" 1440p 144 Hz Monitor is my Main, despite beeing TN. Doesn't bother me at all.

    1. Yes, it is worth. More detail, and you will see a lot less flickering on edges (stairs, windows etc). However, it still won't be perfect. You need at least 4k to have a somewhat "clean" image. But yea, 1440p looks alot better.
In my Opinion: 1440p @ High looks better than 1080p @ Ultra.

    2. Yes, there is. Main difference beeing Adaptive Sync (Freesync or G-Sync, doesn't matter) beeing active. I personally HATE tearing, and stuttering. So Adaptive Sync is a blessing.
Sure, 70-90 fps will not look as smooth as 140 fps. But it looks smoother than 60 fps.
But think it that way: 144 Hz with Freesync gives you the option, to run your Games at 50 fps up to 144 fps. Depending on which game, you can chose your own sweet spot betwee fps and graphic Quality. Fast paced shooters? Medium with high fps. Visual nice games like Witcher 3, who don't really NEED super high fps? Higher settings, nicer graphics, and "only" 70-80 fps. perfectly fine.

    3. Depends what "good fps" mean for you. Even with a 2080 ti you can bring it down to below 60 fps on 1440p Ultra. Some games are really heavy.
So just use graphic settings. That's what they are for.
Noone needs Ultra. No Game is optimized for Ultra.
Ultra often looks 1-2% better, and costs 30-50% more performance.

What i can 100% tell you: You will be perfectly fine with a 5700 XT on 1440p / 144 Hz / Freesync for the next years.
No you will NOT get 140 fps on Ultra on every Game. But with only minor Setting tweaks, you will be able to play every Game smoothly enough with a very adequate Graphic quality.

Let me rephrase it maybe, regarding your GPU Choice:
Buy the GPU, you can afford.
If you can afford 1300€, buy a 2080 ti. Buy the fastest GPU you can.
"too much GPU performance" does not exist.
So: Buy what you can and want to afford, and work with that

Personally I found the upgrade from 1080p 24inch monitor to 27inch 1440p is extremely worth it....and the difference between 60hz and 90hz(90fps variable refresh) is night and day, but above 90fps it's much less noticeable.

So I'd say get a 27inch 1440p monitor WITH variable refresh rate and aim for say 70 to 100fps in the more demandi g games.

This. 5700XT will gives much more frames in 1080p but not all games needs 144 Hz. If you play story-driven or AAA game you don't need 144Hz.

yes. bet ween 720-1080 or 1080-1440p are the biggest differences in quality. it is worth it.
yes you will notice. but if you want the 144fps just play at medium settings.
it will run them over 60fps soemtimes near 100fps on ultra. near 144fps on medium
