  1. Ah, explains why everywhere was out of stock, thanks for letting me know!
  2. Ah, that might be an idea, thanks! Will keep those in mind if I can't con someone into making me one
  3. Oh boy, yeah that doesn't look good, thanks for the info!
  4. Ah, will do, thanks for the tip. I did actually initially have that TR4 in my list but replaced it for the Corsair H100i since I prefered the look, but seems as if the TR4 will be a much better fit, so I'll add that back in!
  5. Thanks for the reply! Is it better to use normal fan based coolers for these right now then? I'll check out some info on the DRP and AF!
  6. Hi guys, looking for a good cooler for the Ryzen 3960X/3970X. I like the look of the Corsair H100i RGB PLATINUM but worry that it won't quite cool the CPU enough - is that the case, or will it work fine? I won't be doing any overclocking and don't run any long CPU intensive tasks like rendering. If that's not a good match, could someone recommend something? I'd prefer a white cooler but I know that's not always possible.
  7. I got some other cables from them, but they don't do power cables unfortunately. Might have to go with a nice braided extension cable and a very short plastic C13.
  8. I only use Premiere a little, but usually 4K footage. Not long edits though, we're talking 5-10 minutes of footage.
  9. Little bump, would be interested in more opinions, especially from anyone who does similar work on a similar machine. I have about 6 weeks until I start building this so will be changing the specs and parts as I go along. Would love to know specifically if 128GB of RAM would help over 64GB since I don't know 100% how well Adobe apps utilise that much RAM, and also whether the 2080 Ti will be used to its full potential in Adobe apps or not, although I may just end up getting that anyway since it's the highest spec and I imagine would last me a few years! (Also put the wrong RAM in the original spec list, will be 3200 not 3000, and 4 sticks rather than 2, as FloRolf pointed out!)
  10. Yeah good point with the RAM, I did have 4 x 32GB in my list, knew I put 4 for a reason! My storage 'server' is just two external 20TB drives, I'd rather not add to that if I can chuck 2 drives in the case. I don't really know whether the 2080 Ti is overkill, there's a lot of game-based reviews around but not loads for my usage, so it's hard to tell. Hence why I was asking here, in case anyone has a similar usage and can tell me whether the Adobe apps etc utilise the power. If the performance upgrade (and future performance) is negligible then I'll go for a slightly cheaper card then upgrade in a couple of years, but if the performance is worth it then I'll just go for the 2080 Ti. I don't really play games on my current machine but would be nice to play them on this one.
  11. Hi there, looking to get a little advice on a new build. Haven't build a new machine for about 7 years, so this will completely replace my old one. It's a work machine first and foremost, but I'd also like to get into some gaming. I do illustration, design and photography work, mostly in Adobe apps, and I'd like to learn some 3D. So apps like Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, Premiere and Blender. The plan is to use 2 x high speed M.2 drives to boot from, use for scratch disks, and keep all my work on. The 2 x 16TB are for media and backups. I already have a 2 x 20TB external setup for backups and cloud storage etc. I'm trying to make sure I build something that will still be fast in 5 years, but without going overboard. I don't have any sort of budget restrictions, but I'd also rather not buy things that are vastly overpowered for the sake of it, since if I'm not going to utilise them it seems stupid. I've only added the main components to the list (CPU, GPU, RAM, HDs, MOBO) since that's what I'd like the advice on. I did think of adding 64GB more RAM but wasn't sure if it'd help with the apps I use, and also wasn't sure if the 2080 Ti was overkill or if I should go for a 2070. I don't mind spending the extra if the power will actually be used. Thanks in advance! 12. Hi PC pals, newly registered here, been watching the channel for years Planning a new build and got a few custom braided cables made for my keyboard and other peripherals, but finding it impossible to get a nice looking braided C13 cable for my PSU. I know that @CableMod do braided power cords like the ModFlex but they seem to be sold out of UK versions right now. Would prefer something a bit more fancy, but I don't mind if it's plain white or something, would just like a cable that's not a plain black plastic one. The only ones I can find right now are audiophile versions which are astronomically expensive. Any help would be appreciated!
