  1. So, to start off with I have Comcast and live in the central US. I've had this same problem for a while now over 2 separate modems that I have gotten from Comcast. My wired connection to my PC can get super unstable at times, going from 250 down and 12 up to 2 down and 0.1 up. But at the same exact time both the 5ghz and 2.4 ghz can be perfectly stable. The 5ghz will be a very stable 150 down and 10 up and the 2.4ghz would be a stable 30 down and 8 up. I really just don't understand how one can be stable and fast at the same exact time as the other one sometimes failing to even get 0.2 down. The modem that I have from comcast is maybe a month old at this point and I have replaced all the ethernet cabling between it and my desktop. And the speeds are just as crappy when i plug my laptop in as well. Any info or suggestions would be appreciated!
  2. So to start off with ive got an EVGA supernova 650 G 80+. I'm looking to do a major overhaul of my PC with the newest generation of parts. I am looking at getting a 3080 and some kind of mid tier Ryzen 4000 series. I don't plan on doing overclocking of either of them as of now but maybe in the future. I've been reading some articles that recommend a higher level PSU, just wanted to ya'lls thoughts on the matter before i go and drop another $100+
  3. So i plan on upgrading my PC here when Zen 3 comes out and im looking to move the certificate from my old PC to my new PC. Is it as easy as swapping my boot drive (An Nvme drive) to the new board and just selecting it or is there going to be something that i need to do to untie Windows from my old hardware?
  4. Thanks! I did the same thing last time and didn't look to see when the next gen stuff was coming out. Missed out on getting an 8700 by like 1 month.
  5. So im looking to upgrade a few parts of my system, mainly just the CPU and the motherboard. As for the budget im looking to spend like 700 bucks or so and i plan on selling my old parts as well to make up for some of the cost. My current build: CPU: Intel Core i7-6700k Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VIII HERO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Memory: 4x8 GB G.Skill Trident Z DDR4-3200 Storage: SAMSUNG SM951 128GB M.2 Seagate BarraCuda ST3000DM008 3TB 7200 RPM Kingston Digital 480GB SSDNow V300 SATA Solid State Drive Video Card: EVGA 1070 SC Gaming ACX 3.0 Power supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650 W 80+ Gold Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Case: NZXT 530 Full tower Cooler: Corsair H100i v2 As for my hopes of upgrades I have been thinking about moving from intel over to AMD, mainly for price reasons. I usemy PC mostly for Twitch, playing a few games (The most intensive being Bannerlord and Project Cars 2). As for the mother board I am mostly looking for another m.2 slot and getting something about 1tb or so to put my games and a few other things on it. Other than that im not really looking to upgrade much else unless someone has any good recommendations!
