  1. Hi. yesterday got myself a Klipsch 280F pair in Piano Black. The sound,.. well, I new it`s going to be good, but i was completely blown away. They sound exactly the way i want! So detailed and transparent, with enormous imaging and space, and botomless bass...AT ANY VOLUME! I paired them with my Denon pma 720ae and Denon DCD 720ae, and i can barely turn it past 11 o'clock not to blow out my eardrums...and windows. // In a speaker shop, salesman told me that my amp is total crap and diagnosed me wright away amp at 700+/- eur price, the way he spec amp for speaker was not by performance, but the price. So now I`m a little confused. Is it really not enough 2x50W at 0.07THD, 20-20KHz at 8ohms.?? my room is 15m2, with 2.5m ceiling. (160ft2, and 7.3foot high). What is your opinion?
  2. Thanks a lot, now it`s time to figure out how to save some couple of hundrets EUR-s.
  3. so, basicaly, the way to do it for sure is to go with m.2 nvme (through PCH lanes), leave sata purely for media storage, and stick to single GPU (sli/cfx not interested - goint to upgrade to rx 480), // my xonar phoebus audio is on second pcie-x1 slot, and runing on PCH lanes already, it sould not interfear anyhow with m.2 at x4?
  4. 950 pro - nvme based, board supports boot from nvme drives, slot is wired at x4.
  5. what if i`m using m2 samsung 950 pro? does it mix anyhow my pci-e speeds?

  7. Hi. I`m planing a purchase - intel 750 SSD on PCI-E x4. So, first slot is occupied with GPU and running at 16x, if i stick intel 750 to the 2 slot will it run at 4x keeping first at 16x, or they both going to run at 8x? What if the 3rd slot? (Asus Z170 pro gaming, 6700K). help. (gpu - gtx 960 - it`s not going to bottleneck even x8, i know.)

  9. Finaly, ritered my Logitech G11, got myself Zowie Celeritas Cherry MX black, one of the 50 from the last batch in Latvia, before Benq kills the brand with "upgraded new products". So, everyone saying that blacks are stiff, i do not think so, at least after my G11 (which was a very capable membrane keyboard that still works fine with no flaws after 8 years of service). G11 needs definitely more force to actuate, and less to keep it down, but for things like racing games on keyboard, i cant think of better switch than mx black, such a pleasure to touch them, to type on... (nylon keycaps - it a miracle compared to ABS, you have to touch them to understand why zowie used them). But sacrifice had to be made, the printed letter are fast to get dirty, it`s a minus to everyone (including myself) who have to look at keycaps when typing. Ofcourse, pure alcohol can solve the issue, but i doubt that you will want to clean it every week. I can deal with it, the feel to me is much more important than looks (we buy mechanical keyboards for their feel, not looks, am i right?). I was not Limited in budget, i just wanted a robust keyboard for gaming/typing. Brown/blue - its like typing a broken keyboard for me, reds to lights for my fingers (i`m 110kg/185cm person). I have tried Corsair Strafe with reds, initially it was firs in my list, - too light, and plastic plate mounted switches ruined otherwise a very good keyboard, K70 too big for tabletop, and then a man "with experience" gave my to try Celeritas. I was a made decision from the first touch. I feels so solid like a switches are mounted to the table surface, not a device on it. The metal plate does the job, excellent switches and outstanding keycaps refines the whole experience to another level. I just can not go back to membrane keyboard anymore. No more membranes under my fingers at home (well, my employee wold not understand why i need a 98.02 EUR keyboard) Oh yeah, features - NKRO - useless, unless you type with your face, BUT!!!! PS/2 adapter still in use. Because PS/2 protocol uses hardware interrupt, i can set my pc to turn on on a touch of a keyboard button, even after a complete system shutdown (not from sleep), which can not be done under USB. RTR - useless at 99,99%, BUT!!! If i set it to 2x, the cursor in text cycles twice as fast, and it is convenient to move much faster in the text documents. Ability to turn off keyboard lights - first i was thinking - why ta hell i need that? Answer came by itself - IT`S A FREAKING MOVIE MODE!!! You see, celeritas is right in front of my monitor, and light are no good while watching film, zowie+F8 - and you are good. Features i will not miss, but others might - illumination. There is none. Don`t spoil your eye, type with with lights on.;) One more good word about the Celeritas - its mate black finish is second best after cloth surface in hiding fingerprints. There is none of them. For everyone who considers a mechanical keyboard, Zowie Celeritas gets my honest recommendation. The build quality, the feel of touch and type, the dull solid sound of a keypress accompanied is worth every cent!
  10. Solved, jut reinstalled k-lite and set 5.1 as default output, now all ac3, dts, dts ma all works woth proper surrond; chanel to chanel audio. SSL - thanks for pointing the issue.
  11. Please advise, win 10x64, phoebus solo, z906 - what should i do to get analog out 5.1 real audio to speakers. Player, setting, windows audio settings.
  12. Nope, it`s not, it is media player classic from k-lite (installed with 2.0 as default)
  13. Well, i got Xonar Phoebus solo, conected to Z906 via 6 channel direct. Seems everything working fine (positional audio in games, music effects, 6channel audio test etc). // Movies with Dolby Digital audio with 5.1 surround sound plays in stereo until swich on "Dolby Home Theatre v4" - all 6 channels starts to play their part. I`m qurious, it is simulated or natural channel - to channel audio as intended? Is there any test files (movie test) to hear the positional audio is working? Does anyone have the same setup?/experience?

    Asus Phoebus Update

Well, that is interesting. I recently installed drives for phoebus, and still have old interface. No new interface can be found...
  15. Recently i got myself Asus Xonar Phoebus just for better audio on stereo (i do not care much about surround). I`m running Asus Z170 pro gaming MB with perfectly fine Fupreme FX onboard audio. So now: everybody saying that there is no difference, it`s all placebo and so on, just never f**** heard good audio on quality headphones or stereo setup. Reasons behind Phoebus (its the best that fitted in my budget): I never aver had any issues with noise floor or volume levels, even on headphones, my problem was that sound was not clear enough on complex samples (harpsichord, orchestral works, melodic death metal or engine sound in dirt rally). The difference i got was substantial! : The base output on speakers or headphones did not change much (just a fraction punchier, but my speakers doesn't shine in base department), bur midrange became much fuller and much better controlled, vocals in opera arias became a nirvana!, highs - better articulate, better distinguishable from other spectrum with better stereo separation. Trust me, it`s all true, the difference is very apparent. The only thing i MUST say, to hear the difference you must have headphones on stereo setup that can resolve with high accuracy, Setups with rolled off highs (like cheap or gaming oriented headphones), 2.1 gaming speakers (even Logitech Z623) gives ABSOLUTELY "0" difference, than there is no sense to make a purchase and waste money on sound card - even STX 2 will not provide any benefits. But if you rocking a beginners stereo (like mine Pioneer A-307R with couple Pioneer CS-5070, or preferably better) or quality headphones like DT 990 pro, such an upgrade is a MUST. 5-10 seconds running a new Phoebus Solo will be enough for your jaw to drop out in fallout. PS: I`m glad that i did not get myself an STX2, not because it`s not better, IT IS, just my other equipment would not make any justice to the Asus masterpiece. And can not say anything about Creative Zx - never had one...
