  1. I figured out the issue, it just needed a bios update. Which is odd cause it was posting with the older version. I guess the newer one fixed stability.
  2. Specs: R7 2700, 16gb 3200 Corsair Vengeance Pro, B450-F Asus Strix, GTX 970, Corsair 650w PSU Recently decided to finish up a Ryzen build I've put off for years. Got all the components I needed, did the usual set up outside of case yada yada. Here is where the issues arose. Couldn't short the pins to start up, or start with a button, tested every component aside from CPU on a different platform board/chip, all work, return board. New board comes in, install everything, 1st problem DRAM led, after making sure all the ports are clean, that fixes the issue. After that, I get VGA Led, so at this point I feel like something is wrong with the CPU because the GPU I know for a fact is working. After some tinkering around, I discover it will Post only when I initially install the CPU, but if I have to restart the system for any reason, it will not post again, and the VGA LED will light up again. I have tested this theory many times and every time I remove the CPU and reinstall it, it posts. Most of the time you hear people not booting on first start up so I'm stumped. This is an issue because I haven't installed windows so I can't just put it into sleep mode which I'm not sure if it would turn back on after that. And if in the future I need to restart for any reason, I don't want to have to take out CPU and put it back it every time. PROOF THAT IT POSTS So not sure if this is a CPU issue or Board issue, I've ordered another CPU to test with but won't get here for another week. Any suggestion or help is appreciated!
  3. I figured, i tried everything I could think of but thought I'd ask more knowledgeable people. I'm fine with 3 cores anyways since its only gonna be used as a word processing/browsing PC. Thanks
  4. He had it overclocked, but I've reverted everything to default. And he said the problem was present when he first got the CPU.
  5. So recently purchased a used mobo-ram-cpu combo for a build. The seller told me the CPU won't work unless a core is disabled and couldn't tell me for sure why this was the case. I was just wondering if anyone here had any suggestions on possibly fixing this or if I'm stuck with running it at 3 cores. Cheers!
