Recently decided to finish up a Ryzen build I've put off for years. Got all the components I needed, did the usual set up outside of case yada yada. Here is where the issues arose.
Couldn't short the pins to start up, or start with a button, tested every component aside from CPU on a different platform board/chip, all work, return board.
New board comes in, install everything, 1st problem DRAM led, after making sure all the ports are clean, that fixes the issue.
After that, I get VGA Led, so at this point I feel like something is wrong with the CPU because the GPU I know for a fact is working. After some tinkering around, I discover it will Post only when I initially install the CPU, but if I have to restart the system for any reason, it will not post again, and the VGA LED will light up again. I have tested this theory many times and every time I remove the CPU and reinstall it, it posts. Most of the time you hear people not booting on first start up so I'm stumped.
This is an issue because I haven't installed windows so I can't just put it into sleep mode which I'm not sure if it would turn back on after that. And if in the future I need to restart for any reason, I don't want to have to take out CPU and put it back it every time.
PROOF THAT IT POSTS
So not sure if this is a CPU issue or Board issue, I've ordered another CPU to test with but won't get here for another week. Any suggestion or help is appreciated!
