    ryzen 5 3600

I found I needed to undervolt it. I’m running a 1.15v with clock of 4.15ghz all cores and dropped my temperature by 10c while gaining more performance in r20 over stock.
  2. I would suggest looking at an undervolt/higher core clock option. This worked great for me. I cut about 10c off my max with a Ryzen 3600 from stock with better performance. I am not sure it will apply to an older CPU but I know that Ryzen doesn't need as much voltage as is provided at stock. I have my 3600 at 1.15v with a stable clock of 4.15 gz on all cores. I get better performance on Cinebench too!
  3. I should mention that my performance actually improved by doing this too!
  4. Try to undervolt it and then up the core clock. I was able to run at 1.15v at 4.15 ghz on all cores. My temps won’t go over 88c. before undervolt I was getting 98c at stock and I live in California with much cooler ambient temps I would imagine. I wrote more about this on another post.
  5. I wanted to do a quick follow up if anyone comes across this thread. I learned that stock Ryzen receives more Voltage than it needs. I was able to undervolt the cpu to 1.15v while maintaining a 4.15gz on all cores which brings the max temps down significantly. prior to undervolt I was getting a r20 score of 3550 with max temps of 98.8c with a 1.15v undervolt and a 4.15gz on all cores, I am getting about 3770 in r20.L with max temps of 88.8c. I haven’t noticed a single core performance drop either. to sum up: I am getting better Performance with lower voltage. Pretty amazing!
  6. Just as a followup. I ran R20 and did not pass 1.38v. Temp maxed at 90c according to Ryzen Master. Seems like the stock fan can maintain a temp below 95c. Very high compared what I am used to but I will continue to monitor it.
  7. Great! Thank you for all the help!
  8. Ok. I already downloaded Ryzen Master. I believe the max voltage of Ryzen 3600 is 1.5v (I think I read that somewhere). Do I just make sure it doesn't pass that?
  9. How do I know if it is overvolting? Obviously in BIOS but is there a specific max voltage I should set?
  10. Thank you for the response! Is there anything I should do with my stock fan curve to help lower the temps? I am nervous being a first time builder that I am going to shorten the life of my CPU.
  11. Hi All, This is my first build and first post... so very new to all this. Please forgive my ignorance! I have noticed my case temps measured on my MOBO are idling at 23-25c and maxing at 35c. CPU is reaching mid 70s when gaming and mid 90s when running Cinebench R20. Is this normal? Seems really high from all that I have seen. CPU: Ryzen 3600 with Stock fan MOBO: Gigabyte x570 UD GPU: RX 5600XT Case: Phanteks Eclipse 350x 2 Extra static pressure case fans I had. I have already updated chipset drivers, all other drivers, and windows shows no updates needed. I have not updated BIOS yet (a little nervous).
