  1. Laptop : HP omen 15 Dh0138TX Okay so an extended cut of what happened. I was playing a game on my laptop called The Ascent, ran fine at 80+fps. No issues. Did the same last night, no issue. After playing the game for a while, I shut it down, opened up opera and started to watch some videos on YouTube. While I was watching videos my laptop just suddenly turned off. Not like a proper shutdown, but just a tak and boom, no light, no display. When I pushed the power button, no response, the battery charging light wasn't even starting up, the laptop was... Dead sort of. I looked up a few articles, I disconnected the battery, tried just ac power. No luck. Did the reverse, just the battery. No luck. Then I did that power button holding thing for 1 minute and then plugged in ac, no luck. Then I just kept the laptop as it is, went to sleep. Woke up like 3 hours later and now it's runs fine again??? It showed a CMOS checksum error 502 on the start, but told me to just reboot the computer. I did. And I am not getting that error anymore. Now the laptop runs fine on battery and on AC power. What exactly happened here? And should I be worried that it might happen again in the future? Thanks for the help in advance!
  2. I have an i7 9th gen and a RTX 2070 max q, in a HP omen 15 chassis. I created two power plans for my laptop using throttle stop. Both plans are undervolted by 130mV. The first one has disabled turbo and a speed shift of 120. This is for browsing, photoshop, Maya 3d modelling etc. The second plan is the same but with Turbo enabled and a speed shift of 150. This is just for gaming. When i use the first plan i get around 60-70 FPS in gta 5 but temps stay at 65-80 range. In the second plan i get around 100 fps but temps go up to 95C in some cores. If i use the second plan just for gaming and use the first one regularly is that okay for my laptop in the long run or should i stick to the first one for everything? (My fps does drop in gta online to 40-50 if i disable turbo, and i get around 20 less fps in other games too)
  3. So i have an HP Omen 15-dh0138TX with i7-9750H, 16 gigs of ram and an rtx 2070 max q. Based on those specs i should be getting above 60fps in gta 5 constantly yet i don't, and my gpu isn't even using itself fully. Its usually at 30-50% usage and temps are at around 70 degrees. Its not being bottlenecked cuz my cpu is also at 30-40% while playing the game. In certain closed areas i get around 100fps at times, but as soon as i go out my fps drops to 40-50. My settings are: -textures on very high and everything else on high. -Fxaa is on and msaa is at x2. -No reflection msaa and water quality is at normal. -extended distance scaling is at 50%. Pls help and thanks
  4. So i have an HP omen 15-dh0138TX and i want to undervolt my gpu to maximise performance. I've been playing a lot of games recently and i use afterburner to keep an eye on my temps and stuff and i saw this Limit called "Power" following that i found this tutorial and i undervolted it following his methods. Link: However i want to know if someone here with a similar laptop has already found a curve in After burner that can cut out unnecessary voltage while retaining the performance. Thank you
  5. Update: Problem solved by repasting. The factory thermal paste application LITERALLY DIDN'T COVER HALF THE GPU. Once i repasted i got a WHOPPING 20 degrees decrease in temprature. I also undervolted by 125mV and undervolted my GPU just to stay safe to 1300Mhz across all voltages.
  6. Also im pretty sure my fps drop is because of my gpu temp, which was also 90 degrees. So idk how to fix that.
  7. I did that and i got a whopping 2500 score in cinebench. Much higher than what my cpu should get. The downside of that was my temperature never went below 97 degrees celsius and max was a 100 degrees. fan speed is at max.
  8. Update: So i tweaked around throttlestop and turned off "Disable turbo" which gave a MASSIVE performance boost and my cinebench went to 2300. The downside is that that also screwed up my temps making them as high as 100 degree celsius. So that's that. Idk if there is a way where i can have a good speed and low temps, or atleast acceptable temps. If someone has any clue of how, please lemme know.
  9. Okay i will go with kryonaut cuz i dont wanna take risks cuz i dont have any warranty on this thing. Btw i tweaked a few things in throttlestop and my cinebench score went to 1855. So that's something.
  10. Idk if i should be repasting it myself tho. I mean i haven't really done it before ever. I will clean the fan tho. and see what else i can do. Which is the best thermal paste tho? Cuz in hp omen the cooling is sub-par its not good. Idc about the price even if its too costly.
  11. it's already undervolted via throttlestop. I put that in the body of my post. I have undervolted it by -125mV in cache and in core. Btw i had speedshift turned on for some reason, so i turned it off and i got a lil performance boost. My cinebench score went from 1500 to 1700. But that's it.
  12. You can check the temps in the log file. The log file was created while playing mortal shell. It starts at 53 then goes upto 90 degree Celsius
