  1. Oh not looking for solutions here but rather understanding the root issue to figure out how to mitigate that. Linus mentions some cybersecurity training but I'm wondering beside the usual phishing stuff what kind of advice should be given. You can't ask ppl not to open zip files with PDFs inside (btw that scenario should not break a computer).
  2. Would be interesting to know the details. Opening a PDF per-se shouldn't cause these issues, PDF reader might say it is an invalid file but there has to be more to it to install the malware. Did the actual file bypass protected mode/protected view or did the staff have that disabled?
  3. On Linus most recent video, he mentions that someone opened a zip file and extracted a PDF. Either extracting the zip or opening the PDF hacked Colton's computer but I was wondering if anyone has any details on the exact vulnerability that might have been exploited. There was a 7z escalation issue last year but that one seems to involve the help system. Not sure how opening a zip or opening a pdf could launch a malware on a computer.
  4. Had the same thought after watching the video. I would really like to figure out some 5 Ghz wifi issues in my house. I'm going to guess that that these SDR devices won't give a full picture since they only go to 1.7Ghz but they could point to devices that have harmonics in the 5 Ghz spectrum? The only other alternative I found is the Tiny SA Ultra which goes all the way up to 6 Ghz. Any other suggestions?
  5. I can't say I can figure out how this tour makes sense - there is a road nearby so anyone with a car could drive there and look at the heat exchangers and the reservoirs but OVH doesn't let Luke show them. Tech looks really cool but as a customer it would boil down to price - every cloud offers systems with GPUs today.
  6. Thanks for clarification - wasn't sure what to make of "Gaijin Entertainment is a Russian video game developer" in the wikipedia.
  7. Just saw the recent video sponsored by War Thunder - aka Gaijin Entertainment - according to the wikipedia - this is still a Russian company. Any official word on this by LTT before we make any conclusions?
  8. I did install the chipset drivers from AMD but I'm not certain if these are the latest. On their website it says 3.10.08.506 10/21/2021 Is there any newer version?
  9. So I get way higher scores when I run geekbench in Linux - so I think this has to do with my Windows 11 install or version.
  10. Would you be able to confirm which version of Windows 11 you are running? I have the insider 22000.376 Wondering if the new AMD scheduler fixes made it to this version...
  11. I have 32gb (2x16) Micron in XMP 3200 mode. The RAM options seem a big leap to go from 8,500 to 10,000 in geekbench - can this be possible?
  12. I have a Ryzen 5800x + Aorus Elite x570 motherboard. Even with PBO enabled, Gigabyte Easytune in OC mode - I only get ~ 8,500 in Geekbench 5 multi-core. However I see many Ryzen 5800x results with over 10,000 in multi-core. Is there something wrong with my windows installation or is there somekind of complex overclocking involved to go over the 10,000 in Geekbench? Erik.
  13. You guys saved me from getting a MB that wouldn't work - I posted my real question in
  14. lol oh man this is ridiculous - I'm blaming a glitch on the "Submit Topic Button" - it became disabled but I guess not lol
  15. OMG yes it is even clearly written in the manual and not to plug a graphics card there - thank you!!
