  1. Thank you for the replies. I think I will wait a little, up my budget and buy a 4070 or even 4070 Super. I believe this will be a better long term value, while almost twice as expensive as the 4060 series.
  2. For those interested, here is a link to my original thread from 2020, when I built the PC.
  3. Dear Forum, I am considering to upgrade my system with a new graphics card and I need your support please. My system consists of a TU150WX mini tower with a B450 mini itx motherboard, a ryzen 5 3600 cpu and a 450W platinum power supply. The setup is optimized for efficiency and silent operation. I am using the computer for work and video, but also ~ 50% for gaming, mostly RTS titles, my monitor runs at 4K and 60Hz. At the moment I am running a MSI GTX 1660 Super Gaming X, which is a nice card. The case limits me to max ~ 30 cm in length. I was looking at current nvidia models 4060, 4060 ti, 4060 ti 16GB, 4070 and so on, but I can't decide on the brand and model. It is important for me that the new card runs quiet, has improved performance with low power needs, good build quality and lasts me for the next 4 years. By budget is ~ 500 USD but flexible. Any help is appecciated.
  4. @5x5 Yes, I have the latest Bios from Asus. I am seeing identical temperatures in Bios and CPU-Z, so I believe them.
  5. It somehow seems to me like the internal temperature of the cpu does not "arrive" at the cooler, so I thought: Maybe it is not properly connected? Or are settings off so that it dissipates too much heat? Is the MB maybe faulty? Or can it be that the heat pipes are not efficient below a certain temperature? Or is the chip not well connected to the cou housing? The thing is, of course I could switch off fans, but the settings would be way outside of Asus "recommended" fan curves and max temperatures.
  6. @Mateyyy Airflow is fine and the cooler itself feels only slightly warm, not hot by any means. I am running the Ryzen Balanced power plan and have the latest Chipset drivers installed.
  7. @MartinKweh I think the thermal paste is fine as I can see small bulges of it on the sides everywhere except in the very corners. I did an X. Temperatures at full load are always below 80, but with my current settings the CPU only runs at 3600 MHz and 30W power draw.
  8. Good Morning, I am running a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU on Asus Rog 450 i motherboard equipped with a be-quiet Dark Rock 4 cooler which is properly installed Idle temperatures running Windows 10 are around 60 °C and jump between 55 and 65 °C. Fan speeds are relatively high even after Asus optimization and even with quiet, energy saving mode enables. The CPU only draws around 10 W of power while this is observed. I did everything I could including reducing the voltages and turning off anything performance-related, but still the system runs hot on idle. Any suggestions?
  9. I think for the mainboard a B450 option would be the wiser (and cheaper) choice for your needs.

  11. Thank you all for your recommendations so far! So I have decided on the: Ryzen 5 3600 on a 450 chipset MB, with a good CPU cooler 3600 MHz CL16 memory 2x8GB 1TB NVME SSD As for the Graphics Card, I am still undecided. The options are: RX 5600 normal / xt RX 5700 normal / xt GTX 1660 normal / super / ti RTX 2060 normal / super or even RX 2070? ... and then there are 1000 brands of each type which confuses me even more. Are there any experiences which ones are better/worse and especially which ones operate more quietly than others?
  12. The AMD website says that the Ryzen 5 3600 only supports a maximum of 3200 MHz. Does that mean that anything above it is useless? Edit: Found the solution here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHJ16hD4ysk
  13. So what would be the next higher CPU choice if I decide to overbuild on this front and decide to stay with a simpler GPU for now?
