Everyone needs to calm down. 

I've been ready for new content,  Do I care that they messed up graphs on videos, no.  Does it have any direct relation to me, that they auctioned off a part, no.  Do people get harassed at every company, yes?  They are aware, and probably see why its not best to outsource HR. I hope what comes out of this is LMG doesnt hire anyone based on a fan reaction and they have 4 layers + of interviews to determine if someone will be a good fit or not.   


I am here for the content, and the content is missing.   😞  Lets gooo LMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  do what you do best,,,,,,,,,,,make entertaining content.    

Pretty sure that Linus video with that call Kris person forced her to relocate due to stalking after her location was discovered.

Looking forward to some new content, plenty of YouTube tech channels to watch but none entertain me quite as much as LTT consistently does.

All you have is 1 person saying what happened. We DON'T know that this was the case, and to seems much more likely that this was a two way street, given what we've seen of Madison on her streams and on her first LTT video.

Walking into a room and saying what's up to your coworker by saying something disgusting and having them reply with something equally disgusting means that you can't, 2 years later, turn around and take what was said out of context to further your agenda.

Then 2 years later post on social media that you were told you look like Dog Shit all innocent like you weren't a willing participant in that conversation is a shitty bullshit thing to do.

I could be wrong, but she won something to appear on screen with Linus, then was offered a job based on that appearance?? Linus announced she was hired before she accepted any offers?  
 
Was she vetted? how did the first 90 days go.. toxic or not why wasnt it identified early on that they were not a good fit?  She mentioned they had problems with her work output, why was the output acceptable in the probation period, then fell off?  LMG has female employees, are they all treated the same way? What made her the unicorn to receive the hostility?

No. The probation/trial period policy was in place before Madison was hired. They specifically talked about how she would go through it like every other new hire, because as soon as Linus said he'd hire her there would be fans demanding to know why she wasn't immediately in videos. 

She was extremely popular with the audience in her appearance in the ROG Rig Reboot video. There was a bit of a "Hire Madison" meme campaign among the fans, and Madison openly wanted to work at LTT. Linus at first turned down her application (publicly saying so on the WAN Show, which I thought was somewhat unprofessional) but then changed his mind and said he'd hire her after all. 
 
 
We don't know. Could be a lot of them have gotten some of the same shit and haven't found it worth it to speak up, could be Madison was singled out. As I said in a post yesterday, assholes/abusers don't treat everyone equally badly all the time. Sometimes they target one person for their own reasons (attraction, dislike, simply thinking a particular person is the easiest target). It's been suggested that perhaps Madison getting the job based (at least in part) on her popularity with the fans led to resentment by some coworkers, but that's pure speculation. 
 

I believe a part of the community begs or demanded she be hired, and if true then LTT made it's first mistake from a professional standard: don't hire someone just because social media wants it. Not saying this excuses anything, but that's just poor practice.
 
As to the probation/90 days, I believe this situation was why the 90 day rule for videos, and probation, was instituted.

Possibly because she had changed countries and they gave her the benefit of the doubt because it would have been hard for her to just pack back up and move back to the US if she didn't work out?  I dunno.  Just speculating.  It could have been a number of things.  Maybe her work in the first 90 days was good.  It was probably more training than anything so the workload wasnt there yet.  We can only assume at this point.

I've been watching LTT since the early days, but the truth is, LTT actually was like my introduction to other tech YouTubers, including GamersNexus, and I've grown to love all of them, and I always enjoyed the cooperative nature of all the tech channels. This chain of events has really hurt to watch progress. Today I just unsubscribed from ALL my tech channels because this topic is all anyone wants to talk about, and I'm sick of hearing about it.
 
This week has actually made me pretty sad. I get all the allegations. Of course, the stuff with Madison Reeves that just surfaced was shocking. I want to set this apart from everything else that I'm talking about, so please hear me out.
 
I am just totally blown away by just how vicious and resentful all the feedback has been. Yeah, mistakes were made, and at their worst, it was driven by carelessness, and lack of respect for Billet's prototype, which I get. There was no presence of malice or foul play here, just mostly lack of attention. So yeah, mistakes were made, it's been made crystal clear, and the people at LTT seem to have gotten the message. You all are ready to crucify Linus and all of the employees at LMG, but can you just acknowledge for a minute that LMG has done far more good than harm over its time? I've learned a lot of great skills, and it's helped to promote other tech companies and bring it into the limelight. I seriously bought an Intel Arc A770 because of info I got from this channel, and I'm not the least bit sorry. I do wish they would focus more on the "tech tips" stuff and less on the gear that only multi-millionaires can dare afford, but I'm gonna keep watching them after this.
 
As far as their workplace environment and sexual harassment goes, I don't really feel comfortable discussing this with anyone on these forums, and I'm just gonna say it's not the least bit acceptable for any company to tolerate or enable, and I think they are all learning a really tough lesson here, but it WILL be learned. I hope that Madison receives whatever relief or compensation she's entitled to from what she's been through. But there's still this disturbing element of deep resentment from everyone that just doesn't make sense, and it's been going on for a long time, it's not new at all or specific to this week.  It's toxic. I left the LinusTechTips subreddit a couple months ago because of such HATRED over something Linus said on the WAN show about unionizing, and it was misinterpreted and taken to such extremes. Why do these people watch the channel if they hate it so much? I just don't understand.
 
I do hope that LMG recovers from this and continues to make excellent content, and I hope we are able to enjoy it again.

Not going to cancel over this.  LMG provides me with quality entertainment. 

i feel like GN is trying to pay for something, why not go after a channel with 13 million more subs. Its clear he put in time to the video and information delivered, but just seems very HEY WHAT CAN WE DO TO DRIVE SUBS here... especially the i'm turning off monetization bit .  sacrifice one video for 5% of Linus sub base to subscribe.  I'm probably wrong but this is the internet so here are 2 cents.

Does your isp provide a modem or modem/router? 

Can anything else connect to the internet through your router via Ethernet cable? 
Does that work?
 
It sounds like you’re not getting an IP address from your router.  Maybe DHCP is not on by default and you need a specific address to connect to it. 
 
 

This.  You need to test another device on that Ethernet cable. 
 
perferably something simple like a PlayStation, Xbox, Roku that will try it’s hardest to get to the internet.
 
if that works it’s computer settings that are the cause of this issue.
if that doesn’t work, it’s your modem/router or cable itself. 
Those cables folded so tight in the packaging sometimes are dead on arrival.
