If you don't know anything about raid, I would suggest staying away from it. You can migrate your apps and os over to the larger ssd and use the smaller for games such as bf4 which will help with loading times

Jacky got a reaction from Tollermine in Should i upgrade anything?
Upgrading processors won't help him much in gaming. The games are mostly being held back by gpu now a days. Just because he cpu is a couple of generations bak doesn't mean that is the part holding he computer bak.
I would upgrade ur gpu or ssd.
Like what people said above the ssd will help responsiveness rather the increase fps

Jacky reacted to helping in "Graduation Presents"
For HS? Nothing. For passing a grade? well, that's expected.
By nothing I mean my butt was spared.
I was offered a car when I graduate college, but I'm fine with my current one.

Jacky reacted to MrSuperb in Plagiarism
from your page: "I am a technology consultant. I help people with their computer repairs and issues. I diagnose many pre-built factory machines and work on many custom computers. I am going to be a freshman next year taking Electrical Engineering for Computer Hardware Architectural Design. As a hobby besides computer hardware I enjoy doing automotive, especially engine work."
That is not what I would call a consultant, but nvm.
sure you are. You want to sell your computer and advertising it by using trademark protected brands.
You are in no way better, than the guy copying your craigslist ad.
Maybe you fear noone will buy your obviously overpriced "brand new" (haha) PC.

Yeah, does seem a bit harsh.
If I ever post something on ebay and its something I've not posted before, I'll take a look at the rest of the submissions and base it of theirs.
Makes sure I've got the correct info and bits people need to buy the product from me.

This is also only true if everything is running at stock.
You can only really compare performace with benchmarks numbers and real life programs and stuff.

Jacky got a reaction from GoodBytes in Sound Card
does a sound card offer better audio playback than integrated sound? yes you can tell the differenace
does it allow me to record anything coming out of my speakers in any way? for example if i was to play an audio file from youtube, could i record it and then save it to a file on my computer? no? you can just use software to do that
does it give me any advantage when using high end headsets? it can provide more power to higher end headphones. The higher end headsphones tend to use more power and need a dac or sound cards to provide more power to them
does it support anything higher than 7.1(ive heard things like 10.2 and 22.2 possibly replacing 7.1 as the standard) u probably dont need anything beyond 7.1 unless u want to invest alot of money on a higher end audio set up
what advantages will i see from a gaming side(i think i heard something about the asus ones showing a radar of other players sounds) u have a higher range of "sound" so it sound more true to the recording. Some super high end headphones can almost replcate sound to real word sounds from a high end source
is it better to have an internal one or an external connected through USB. Internal ones can have electronic interference from the parts internally. But typically you dont really need to care unless u are going for the audiophile stuff.
does it offer better quality when recording audio? depends. u should worry more on the actual recorder rather then sound card for this
if for example i wanted to record music from multiple instruments and such, how would i do that? can i connect those to a sound card or do i need to buy like a hub of some sort which then connects to the computer through a sound card or USB? buy a recorder then figure out from there
also for a microphone, should i go USB or XLR for more professional sound(someone told me XLR, but i dont understand why as i would assume id then have to plug it into something which then plugs into the computer via usb)
sorry have no clue about this one
I apologize if any of this sounds stupid, i know my way around most computer related subject, but on the topic of audio i have always been just plain stupid, and never cared to learn. well now i have been trying to get into music, and want to record and also playback audio in the most professional sounding way possible.
also what would some of the best sound cards be?
Xonar card are good, fiio, and another one that i cant remember atm. Marysomething

pretty sure they are the same headphones with different names due to different sellers

Eventually all hardware will die. It makes sense that the more stress you put on the system, the faster something will die. Perhaps you could use "death by Folding" as an excuse for a new PC.

Jacky got a reaction from Mecami in Complete mechanical keyboard cleaning
take off all the normal keys (not the big keys) and get some isopropyl alcohol. DO NOT REMOVE the big keys since you can break off the stablizers if u do not no what ur doing. Q-tips would also be helpful
And just start scrubbing away.
-
Jacky got a reaction from Mecami in Complete mechanical keyboard cleaning
ya pretty much all the bigger keys have stablizers. And depending on the oem the stabilizer could be the metal ones that can break off.

Jacky got a reaction from Grape Guild in The ultimate console killer REPLACEMENT
noctua makes some quiet low profiles heat sinks. the intel stock heat sink is loud no matter how u run it. Haswell runs hotter than previous chips so i would still buy an aftermarket cooler
U can probably keep ur tv. Try it when u finish ur build and upgrade ur tv if u are unsatisfied.
noctua, gelid wing and air penetrator are good fans
u should go with a dual kit of ram rather then a single 8gb ram stick. Most if not all recommend filling 2 slots of memory now a days.

Jacky reacted to needmorewood in Help me improve this build
ummmm no offence OP but why would u wanna xfire a 270 anyways? by the time u would have money to make an upgrade im sure a different single GPUI solution would be better anyways
