Hey Guys,
I would like to ask for some help in building my new rig. I just recently moved to the US and left my PC back home in Hungary. I really miss my setup so I was considering getting one for here. I could ask my friend to ship over my old pc or parts of it as to save money, but I would like to know your opinion first.
My old rig (from what I remember): 16gb ram, AMD Vega 64, 500gb SSD, intel i7-7700k I also had a really good 1440p 144Hz monitor, can't remember which model. I could ship some parts over (or the whole thing, which could easily cost $300+ and won't guarantee a safe shipping). The processor and the rams (and maybe the vega 64) could be shipped for less but it would take at least 3 weeks to get here. Still, it's an option to save some money. Or if it's worth to just sell those components somehow and buy a new pc here altogether. In that case here is what I was thinking.
For Budget maybe around $1500 with a $3-400 monitor. I'm not planning on 4k gaming (unless you guys recommend it to me), but I really really liked my 27inch 1440p 144Hz monitor. I was just thinking shipping that to here.
Here is the new rig I was thinking about:
AMD Radeon RX 5700 or RTX 2080?
16GB of ram (I don't really need 32 GB, do I?)
Intel CPU or AMD? I'm not sure which one is better. I could just ship my i7-7700k or get
500GB SSD (I don't need extra HDD storage, I can cheap out here as long as the SSD is lightning fast)
Liquid cooling for the CPU
motherboard that's compatible with all this
Think that's it, I don't need anything else. I like playing the newest games with everything maxed out 60-80 fps+ in 1440k. 4k seems to me a very infant technology so I'm not (yet) interested in it, but I'm also not up-to-date with the current technology, hence why I'm creating this post.
Thank you in advance for your help guys, any opinion helps!
All the best
Barney
