  1. I recently installed an MSI 3090TI into my system. Shortly after I noticed FPS drops in titles like Fifa 23 and League of legends, not very difficult for a 3090TI... I thought this was to do with the GPU not receiving enough power (I have a 750W PSU). I went into MSI Afterburner and changed the Fan Curve in an attempt to undervolt the GPU, as I don't need it maxed out to play titles like League.. This only exacerbated the FPS drops. I have also noticed that If I am playing Fifa on my main monitor with a movie streaming on my second monitor, the movie is EXTREMELY choppy and stuttering. I have removed and reinstalled afterburner and reinstalled GPU drivers. This didn't resolve the stuttering or reset the fan curve I made in afterburner. I'm assuming my PSU isn't powerful enough to handle the new GPU, or my CPU is now the bottleneck? Very first world problem I know... Appreciate any help. 2. Located in Australia. I recently got 5G home internet as its a significant improvement over our old ADSL2+ speeds, with the aim of everybody being able to watch netflix, facetime, game etc.. at the same time (A big ask I know). Very happy with down/up, however regardless of internet activity, ping is always experiencing large fluctuations and at times is unusable gaming wise. Games like CSGO will fluctuate between 30-50 ping at best. I understand that 5G is never going to have as stable or as good ping as physical connections (Including my old ADSL2+ (Was usually 22-24 Ping) but was unusable when ANYTHING else was connected). Is there anything I can do to try and improve ping or even just reduce fluctuation, even if that means a higher ping but more consistency. I can educate myself just need pointing in the right direction. The modem is a Nokia Fastmile 5G gateway. - New modem? (Apparently this modem from optus doesn't have packet priority settings, can't find any QOS settings either). - Port Forwarding for particular games? - Bridging modem to an old second modem, used exclusively for wifi? Reduce load on main router? - Create a DMZ (Virtual or repurpose old modem for physical DMZ)? Literally any recommendations are appreciated, I'm not expecting miracles.
  3. Thanks man, I'll look into some different SSD's. I thought the MOBO would be a good option, thanks for backing it up! Appreciate the response!
  4. Appreciate the recommendations, will look into SSD's you recommended. Have seen the TForce RAM, good alternative. Thanks man!
  5. I currently have a PC (Parts listed below). I have already purchased an AMD 5600x for a great price. I understand in single core performance it may not be a huge step up from my current 6700k, but I wanted something new, with a bit more grunt, and better multi-core performance. I am looking to upgrade to a new motherboard to support the new CPU, some new RAM, an additional m.2 NVME ssd, and most likely an improved CPU cooler. I think I would prefer fan cooling for my CPU to avoid any water related issues ( I know they are rare ). Budget (including currency): $AUD Motherboard: $300 RAM: Preferably RGB (Yeah Yeah I know) - $180 CPU Cooler: $200 Power Supply: $150? Country: Australia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Multi-Purpose, would like a flexible PC able to handle most things I throw at it. Mostly just used for gaming though: Civilization 6, CSGO, The Witcher 3, ARK, Warframe. I have a QHD (2k) monitor, but I'm aware 2k gaming will be limited by my GPU, which I'm not upgrading until prices become reasonable again. Other details: Existing Parts: CPU - I7-6700k GPU - Galax 2060 Super SSD - Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB RAM - Kingston 2x8GB @ 2133 MHz MOBO - Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3 Case: Matrexx 70 3F RGB I've already gone with the 5600x for my CPU. Would the Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro V2 be a good pairing for it? Support for an m.2 NVME, Good for RAM overclocking, PCIE 4.0 for future graphics card upgrade? For the SSD, I was thinking either the Samsung 250GB 980 PRO OR Corsair 500GB MP600. For the RAM, I was thinking something like: Gigabyte 16GB GP-ARS16G32 Aorus RGB 3200MHz https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/XWGnTW/corsair-vengeance-rgb-pro-16-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-3600-memory-cmw16gx4m2d3600c18 https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/CbcRsY/gigabyte-aorus-rgb-16-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-3600-memory-gp-ar36c18s8k2hu416r https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/xWvqqs/antec-katana-rgb-16-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-3600-cl18-memory-am4u36188g11-7dkr Any advice is much appreciated! Cheers.
  6. What adapter are you suggesting here? I'd be interested in grabbing that.
  7. Apologies if this is the wrong section, I recently purchased the Matrexx 70 3F, which comes with three included deepcool 120mm RGB fans and a single RGB strip. These fans are controlled by either an RGB header on mobo, or the built in RGB controller button on the case itself (If I'm correct). My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3, which does not have an RGB header, and right now, I am using the built in case system to control said RGB components. I am wanting to purchase an additional 3 RGB fans (have been looking at Corsair 120mm RGB fans), however these fans will require an RGB header to control, and will need the corsair software, (and use different headers then the deepcool components in my case I believe?) The question is, am I correct in thinking that: Ideally my best options would be to purchase 3 more DEEPCOOL fans and connect them using a fan controller to the existing case system, since deepcool has its own ecosystem, and too keep RGB that is in sync, and continue using the case to control the RGB.. OR Purchase a motherboard with RGB headers and plug all fans into it, in order to have more control over the lighting, and keep everything in the deepcool ecosystem for better lighting sync.. Thanks for any and all advice, I'm fairly new.
  8. I have been looking at the 2060 range, I'll try and find a better deal, Thanks!
  9. Hey guys, Ideally I'm looking to get the most worthwhile upgrades while keeping any existing parts that are still up to the task. With that being said, I really am open to any and all suggestions. My Current PC: i7-6700k, GTX 970 (Asus), Kingston SSDNow V300 120gb, WD Blue 1TB, Kingston 2x8gb @ 2133 Mhz, Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3-CF. The PC is primariy used for 1080p 1920x1080 res gaming. I am looking to run nearly any game at 1440p or 1080p for the foreseeable future, games like ARK: Survival Evolved, Rust, Call of Duty: MW, Civ 6 (I Understand these aren't extremely graphics intensive). I also do a fair amount of multitasking, and currently use two monitors, with three being a possibility in the future. The main upgrades I am looking at include: - New Graphics card - New Case - M.2 SSD - New CPU Fan - RGB Controller (Since my MOBO doesn't have one I believe?)(Only because I want to grab some RGB Fans and such) - Another 1TB HD - More RAM (Not needed, but some advice on good value RGB Ram would be great, only as a luxury) - New Motherboard (If it would be neccessary to use newer parts or get the most out of my specs) I'm wanting to upgrade to keep my PC "up to date"/relevant, with my current specs getting fairly old now. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want some RGB as well, but thats non-essential but prefered. The PC was bought as a pre-build when I knew little about computers, but I now feel comfortable being able to upgrade it myself, but I would still like some councel. The parts I've been looking at and are fairly certain on include: - MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Super Gaming X 6G - Deepcool Matrexx 70 A-RGB Tempered Glass Case - WD Green 120gb M.2 SSD I will also be buying more fans, as to overclock my CPU properly and whatever graphics card I get. Budget of roughly $1000 AUD, +/- $200 if needed. It is also my understanding that I technically could use my current motherboard to use both the GTX 960 AND GTX 1660s? But one of my PCIE lanes is only 4x so wouldn't be as effective? And also that most PC functions including games don't utilize the power of two gpu's? I Think that's everything, Thanks for any and all advice!
