  1. It's about the same in my country since EU pretty much decides the laws on that behalf. We have like a 1 year warranty on whatever you buy, but tech stuff that is broken needs to be returned to the retailer asap, with enough proof that you're not the one responsible for the damage on their product and the packaking has to be better than how you received it in the first place.
  2. Fair point. But i'm flexible when it comes resolution since i am used to 1080 and a 400 dollar monitor. 4K will have it's moments
  3. I have to point out since i'm kinda being called out that if it seem strange with the time period of buying part, then it is because i am self employed and have to be smart with my money regardless if i can afford the build now or later. I am asking for advice since it has been a couple of years the last time i put a pc together, and the need for a new one starts to become obvious since the CPU can't really keep up with the work load anymore. If i can reuse some older parts then that's great and also finacially the smartest move (yes i am aware some of the hardware can bottleneck the rest but that can be fixed later).
  4. Luckily music production isn't that CPU heavy since it's on a hobby level so the main focus would probably be at gaming as the main theme. So far not planning on water cooling since i live in a relatively cold climate and i think air cooling will suffice For 4K gaming you would recommend a different GPU with more vram? Yeah i think the PSU is about to hit the retirement years, but i really can't remember when i put together this build the first time. It's as old as when the Intel 4790K came out, and i've added or replaced a few parts to keep up with time.
  5. Yes i expect to buy parts to assemble within a year and reuse some of my older parts like storage and GPU. I can't say when because it all comes down to money when the time comes and i don't really chase discounts when shopping, unless it is like that one hardware that will be the most expensive to purchase.
  6. Basically i game the most on my current build at the moment when i don't do office work, but i'm look for a jack of all trades kinda pc with the power behind it to back it up. But yes i expect to game in 4K or if the load becomes too much i will game in a different resolution. Any moniter would be an improvement of what i got currently, but i like to have options.
  7. Budget (including currency): 2000 Country: Denmark Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Music production, video production, gaming, regular office work. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Current build: PSU: Corsair HX750i 32Gb 3000MHz DDR4 Ram clocked at 2666MHz GeForce RTX 2070 Super GPU Intel I7 4770K 4.2GHz when idle CT2000MX500 2TB SSD1 (OS drive) Samsung Evo 850 500GB SSD (Office file drive) WD Black 4TB storage drive. Gigabyte z270x gaming 7 - Motherboard Audio: MOTU external audiocard and 2 EVE SC208 monitors. OS: Windows 10 Future build within a year: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D GeForce RTX 2070 Super GPU CT2000MX500 2TB SSD1 (OS drive) Samsung Evo 850 500GB SSD (Office file drive) WD Black 4TB storage drive. Gigabyte z270x gaming 7 - Motherboard Audio: MOTU external audiocard and 2 EVE SC208 monitors. OS: Windows 10 (i can't stand windows 11 but will use it if the performance gets better) Misc: 32" 4K Gaming Monitor Odyssey Neo G7 Note: I have been away for a long time with pc builds and i am no longer in touch with which hardware is compatible with each other and find it rather daunting to assemble an awesome build on my own spec wise. As you may have noticed i plan to use some of my old parts since they still perform just fine, and i really just need to update my CPU, RAM and motherboard with possibly also the PSU. I do not overclock so i am looking for a fast out of the box build, but i am unsure which parts i can keep and which ones that needs to be scrapped/sold. Also unsure of how big the power supply should be because i feel right now that windows on it's own are drawing way too much power after af couple of updates, of which has not been a problem in the past with the current build. I would appreciate all the help i can get to avoid expensive mistakes in my build.
  8. So I've got an Asus FX553VE Notebook as my daily driver and I noticed something about how it uses the hardware it is born with (while I was checking photos in an editing software because color depth was way off), and it turns out that it doesn't use the GPU it is built with. It is instead using the integrated GPU chipset on the CPU which turns out disabling it is impossible without complications. The normal GPU does not take over the disabled driver despite everything being up-to-date, and the graphics section in bios are greyed out except for something called 'DVMT Pre-Allocated' which to my limited understanding is some kind of a setting for the 'internal graphics device'. Also the overall settings availability in Bios is surprisingly limited as-well compared to my normal PC I use for editing video etc. Sorry for the long explanation but my question really is, how do I permanently switch to the Nvidia 1050-Ti on my laptop when a lot of things seem to revert back to default settings on it's own or simply refuse letting me change bios settings? I've already went through the Nvidia control panel etc and switched to the correct settings, but the advanced display settings in Windows keeps saying that the laptop still has the CPU as default GPU with measly 6-bit color....
  9. True but it's unlikely i'm going to work with 8K footage within the next couple of years, so i'm fine with last year technology as long it is powerful enough to smoothly endure 4K rendering. Never had NVMe storage before so i don't know how stable it is, but the suggestion seems logic About the motherboard i literally just googled "what motherboard works best with Ryzen 9 3900x" and the one on the list popped up. I'll take a look on the other cheaper options if it works just fine with the cpu etc. Been with intel CPU's since my first PC. Yeah i thought about a Seagate drive or WD Black 8TB for file media storage.
  10. My budget in DKK would be 15.000 BUT it is flexible and can be stretched to around 20.000 Adobe premiere and occasionally Davinci Resolve which has a bit of being resource heavy because of the fancy UI and not so great coding.
  11. Sadly i would not be able to go for the 3950x and the 2080 super since these two pc parts alone could easily break my budget where i live (the country with high taxes and overpriced tech) if I want everything on the list -.-'
  12. So i plan to build a media platform capable of 4K video editing without any major hiccups and possibly music production for use around 2021, and i just wanna make sure there isn't any flaws in the choice of components to the planned build since it will be my 2nd pc build. It is for professional use and i'm upgrading since my current PC has become a bit 'Jack of all trades' type of thing, and i need a workstation that will keep being a workstation and not a place for entertainment. I live in Denmark so the price for parts are fairly expensive so i'm relying on sales a little bit, but i am willing to spend something equivalent to 2.000-3.000USD Might also purchase a new monitor that is rated to be in the 90 to 99% color correct to accompany the build, and i'm thinking a 32" widescreen or similar will do just fine. Don't need to buy new keyboard or mouse since i will re-use some of the minor thing I already have. But the spec of the PC build would look something like this: Cooling - Air cooling is the preferred choice and i've been happy with Noctua in the past. CPU - Ryzen 9 3900x GPU - Nvidia RTX 2070S (Super) SSD (OS drive) - Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVMe PCIe M.2 1TB HDD (General storage) - Seagate FireCuda SSHD 2TB 2nd HDD (Media Storage) - Not quite sure about this one yet as it need to hold a lot of storage but also write/read fast while being durable. RAM - 2x16Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHz C15 (Or C16) MOBO - ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (WiFi) PC Case - Nothing fancy as long it is sound proof. Don't need anything RGB. Feel free to recommend parts that might work better for my build since i'm not an expert in pc builds. I only have knowledge enough to build pc's but not on finding the parts that will work well together. Also thank you guys in advance that wanna help me!
