  1. Check edit problem with that is when i'm on the move i still need a laptop that has pc like performance since I'm still working 99% of those times. And getting both would be way to expensive. I'll rather get something that can do both without issue. I have tried using a friends pc over cloud. But the latency is horendus
  2. I plan on moving it. I travel about twice a year and need something to plug out when I go to school. (I'm a 3d artist, hence the high end spec requirements)
  3. I travel overseas about twice a year. And i'm doing online school. And I have plenty of times where I need to unplug and leave. I'll be able to get a desktop in 3-4 years when I move tho. This is just a Insurance until then
  4. I have been scouring the internet for about an hour and I've only found 3 options. I'm looking for a laptop with a 4080 and a Ryzen 9 CPU and from my extreme googling there aren't many options. I'm looking at the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17. or the ASUS ROG Zephyrus DUO 16 (but the Duo 16 is a bit over my budget) most important part is the cooling and performance. how the keyboard feels or how the monitor looks is almost completely irrelevant. since I'm connecting it to a setup and the laptop will stay stationary most of its life. But I still need a laptop since i travel overseas twice a year, I do physical 3d classes and online classes. "Most of it's life" is more like 250 days out of 365 I'm going for a Ryzen CPU since I'll be doing a lot of 3d rendering and a lot of editing. 4080 is the highest I can go. and I need good opticx performance and raytracing. budget is around 3k. but even that is pushing it.
  5. I strongly reccomend the Realme X7 Pro . iv'e been rocking the x2 pro since launch and bought it overseas. 4 years later and it still holds up just fine. the succesor of this phone iv'e heard is evven better with the modern fetures. They improved the cameras alot even tho the old Camera was never bad. increased battery and a newer processor. everything I love about the x2 is stil there. and a bonus is that it's cheap
  6. yeah I was thinking the same. he bought for maybe 3 bucks. And thermal paste in general is very cheap so its prob better to buy like a 5g tube from a good brand for like 10 bucks on amazon
  7. already done that, the laptop is 6 years old and has never had a repaste
  8. i'm helping a friend of mine to fix his laptop and make it a tiny bit faster. iv'e already factory reset it and told him to buy an ssd as his C drive to speed things up a bit. But the laptop he has (HP ProBook 450 G4 art numbr:1AA13PA) is pretty old and is having thermal issues which hasnt been a issue longterm, but has started to become one recently. Since he dosent live in the same country as I do I can't go over to him and help him buy stuff and he dosent have as much experince with computers. So he bought a thermal paste iv'e never really heard about before " I-tek thermal grease" and I couldn't find any site on it except one indian ebay listing. And I was wondering what the thermal conductivity is and if it's a good option at all. I can ask him to return it and get for example noctua but I don't wanna cause any inconveniences so it's better if I ask the pc gods of the internet first. Should he return it and buy a known brand, or wing it? off topic: he does alot of rendering and 3d work so thermals is something that is quite important that he stays as cool as possible since it a laptop and he can have renders going for hours and needs every single bit of juice he can get.
  9. I have a ryzen 5700g so I doubt that. it wasn't a issue before I installed the new ram either. I did some researching and found out that if the vegnance pro is lighting up red it's indicating it's in update mode. for either a icue software update or a driver update. And I found out that if you force update in icue and ask corsair support for a D flash file it solves the issue. So it's no longer stuck in update mode and isn't lighting up red. Tho that did solve THAT issue I must clarify. I did have problems even booting and the motherboard ram and cpu light did signal and the pc didnt boot long before the red LEDs and update driver issue, and that is what even started this forum topic. But the issue I had first with it not booting is usually totally unrelated to the "stuck in driver update mode" issue. Which i didn't know was unrelated until yesterday when I fixed the driver update issue. I have run some tests and everything is now running as normal
  10. @Alex Atkin UKI'm so goddam confused.. For some reason today when i tried for a last time to install the ram sticks. I installed the faulty one closest to the cpu since I know that is one of the more stable slots. And it started and works. It still lights up red indicating some issue. but for now it works. so i'm gonna keep a eye open and let this forum stay opened. If i incounter any issues i'll just return it
  11. Yeah. I found that out the hard way. Problem is they don't have the same sticks in stock. And the Stores that do has the 2x 16gb or the same 4x 8gb for double the Price.
  12. I spenat 150 f#cking (sorry Linus) dollars on this just for it to work for 3 hours and break
  13. I haven't tried that. I'll do that right now give me 5 minutes
  14. Yes. I tried finniky around a bit more with the sticks. And with 2 of them it did boot. But now when I tried plugging in all 4 it isnt booting and One stick is lighting Up red again. I belive it's a faulty stick
  15. I have 32gb 3600hz ram i bought today and i enabled xmp and everything was going fine. Until later today when I enabled some setting and I don't know which one that had something about the ram Speed to do with. And i restarded but PC didn't wanna boot. So i removed the cmos battery and that didn't work. I Saw the CPU LAMP lighting Up and One ram stick lighting Up so i tried removing that stick and that didn't work neither. I then tried only 2 sticks and neither did that. PLEASE help
  16. SAME ISSUE! 5 years later. did you fix it?
  17. Hi. I have a aukey pc lm1e wecam and I bought it around 3 months ago. I normally used streamlabs to fix colors or to make it look less plain. But not iv'e run into a totally different issue. A few days ago I tried having a video call on discord with a close friend but my camera would'nt show up and the only thhing i could see was "Streamlabs virtual webcam" and my old old microsoft webcam that wasn't even plugged in or close to my computer. So i tried everything. google the issue, reinstalling the drivers, checking the usb connection etc. But nothing worked, then when i checked hidden devices I saw the name of the camera as an audio source and I tried using the mic and sure enough it works fine. I then tried to plug it into my laptop and the webcam works without issue there. Running win 11 insider preview rtx 3060ti ryzen 7 5700g mb- B550-A PRO

  19. yes. I need a power sata and a data satat (which i already have) it's the power sata i need to buy. My psu is from my old pc. and the "new" psu i have isnt modular and came from a prebuilt so i dont have any cables from that either. but it's alright i just need to buy a new cable. Just need help finding a website or guide to where i can buy that. I foudn one but im unsure if it's the correct cable
  20. Like i said i have multible sata data cables but no power sata. the psu i have is from my old pc so i doubt i can find any of the cables
  21. So I bought a 4tb seagate drive for pretty cheap. And i didn't get any cables with it. I have a sata-data cable already but i still need to get a power sata cable. I just wanted to check if this cable is the correct one. i'm prob gonna opt for another one cus i hate mustard and ketchup cables but this was the cheapest i could find (3usd)
