  1. Hello everyone, I have a rx6900xt on the way and was wondering if I should upgrade my PSU as well. I currently have a Corsair rm650x, which I have been using since mid 2018. The new GPU would be a bigger consumer than my current rtx2080. I'm using an R7-3700x, 2x16GB dimms and have 4 noctua fans in my case. Technically, if we go by 150+350=500W then it should be ok and I don't really want to spend the extra if I don't have to, though most recommendations I've seen were of 750W or higher. I would appreciate any and all advice.
  2. i'm not so sure about the dt880, afaik they require an amp to sound good. while i can't really give an opinion to headphones specifically for gaming (i just use whatever headphones i have at the time be it audio technica ad700 in the past or focal elear now), there's always 1 thread i keep remembering in regards to this topic. mad lust envy's guide to gaming headphones
  3. i also use fingertip grip and own the logitech g pro, to me it's very comfortable, but then my hands are also relatively small, i'm not sure how it would be for someone else. another mouse worth considering, imo, would be one of the zowie EC/FK series mice, depending on your palm size and grip preference. there's also this site: http://www.rocketjumpninja.com/top-40/ might be worth checking out - i like his reviews.
  4. alright, so, possibly false alarm, though i haven't tested all scenarios. root ambient temp is 29C, cpu and gpu idle at the beginning was ~40C running furmark stress test + prime95 small fft for about an hour and a half, i figure that's enough for a basic test cpu max was 86C, gpu max was 75C - tested with speedfan, gpuz & CAM gpu core clock started close to 1800mhz, when i stopped it was 1700~1740mhz but i figure it's negligible. cpu core clock was at 3700mhz. no throttling anywhere as far as i can tell. all case fans are antec and have a slow and fast spinning switch, all were on slow (2 intake in the front, 2 exhaust). both gpu fans were spinning and according to gpu-z did not exceed 55% speed. all-in-all, super strange. did i misread msi afterburner? - i did not even open it this time... i'll hop into ME:A for now, to see if it's the trigger. edit: ME:A is also fine, i must've something for another in the afterburner... Thanks for the assist everyone.
  5. @sun2 i live in a hot country, the ambient temp in my room can reach 30C sometimes, so i didn't really pay any attention to the 43C idle.. @Abdul201588 i bought it new. i'll do a more thorough check later today (after i get back from work) and see what i should do. Thanks for the responses folks.
  6. i haven't done anything to the card aside from installing it in the PC and i bought it around a year ago, so i still have 2 years of warranty. what do you think is faulty with it?
  7. Hello, I've been playing ME:A lately, doing a new game+ a few months after beating the game and i noticed my GPU being really loud, just for the heck of it i loaded up msi afterburer to track the temperature. after a session of about an hour the GPU reach >90C with peaks at 100C... is that normal? is the software misreading something? is there a more reliable measuring software? i didn't really notice any throttling.. that game isn't 100% smooth at 1440p with high setting anyway and there wasn't any stuttering or something weird as i was playing. the idle temp is 43C-ish should i be worried about this? (..i guess some cleaning wouldn't hurt, though i clean the case filters regularly) any and all responses would be greatly appreciated. my rig is in my profile.
  8. most smartphones have a 1x1:1 wifi antenna design, since your wifi router is classified as ac750, it also, most likely, has a 1x1:1 design for the 5ghz band. if your phone is the only client on the 5ghz band, an ac1750 router won't increase throughput. if you have more than 1 simultaneous client on the 5ghz band you might feel an improvement since an ac1750 rated router likely has a 3x3:3 mimo design, which supports more spacial streams, and can thus support more clients better. in any case, i think it's amazing you can download at 7MBps (56Mbps) on a 30Mbps connection...
  9. which device is it? as in, model and the like
  10. ok, so your ip address is also 192.168.0.something? when you write the gateway ip address in your browser it refuses to connect? did you try different browsers?
  11. ssh and/or telnet are most likely blocked by tp-link, so maybe a serial connection by specialized means.. are you 100% sure that's the management address for the device? can it have been changed? when you're connected to it, do you get an ip address automatically? (does its dhcp server service work?), if not, did you try scanning segments 192.168.0.* & 192.168.1.* for devices? - that is, when you're only connected to the tp-link device and nothing else. you can scan the network using something like wnetwatcher.
  12. did you try resetting it to default? (press the reset button and hold for 30 seconds, then disconnect power for 30 seconds, reconnect power and hold for another 30 seconds, overall you're holding the reset button for 1.5 minutes - this method usually works well.)
  13. did you try connecting to the tp-link device with a cable and accessing from there? or just from the wireless? also, if it's an extender for the network, why is it on a different segment?

    Crazy Ping

looking at the tracert table, seems like the problem is at your ISP - the 3rd hop has very high latency. try running pathping to confirm - more informative.
