  1. Similar error with linux. Seeing as the drive is beeping, I'm thinking it doesn't want to play ball. Gonna have to return it Thanks for your help, though. /closethread
  2. Tried different ports and different SATA cables, and different power cables, unfortunately. Will try linux and report back - thanks
  3. Windows 10. I've got Ubuntu installed on this same system, would it be okay to try to initialise it through that? Other than that I have a laptop with Win 10, would have to buy external SATA connectors for that though.
  4. Just purchased an Ironwolf 6TB (ST6000VN0033) for my Windows machine, as I got tired of hard drives dying on me. Did my research and apparently I can use NAS drives for Windows - all good. I get into Windows, I try to initialise it, but it says "The request could not be performed because of an i/o device error". Drive name and size recognised correctly. Tried using third-party programs, but getting the same error. Checked the warranty and it's all good, my 3 years started yesterday. Not sure what to do next - any ideas? Thanks
  5. Hey guys, I've got a BENQ XL2420T monitor, which supports nVidia 3D vision. I'd like to get a pair of glasses, but I'm finding many cheaper alternatives to the nVidia route. Would different glasses work, i.e. "Active Shutter Glasses"? And would I have to get the nVidia emitter for that? Can't seem to find the info anywhere, so asking here P.S. fold strong!
